Baseball Announces First Signee Of Spring Period
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss Baseball Coach Corky Palmer has announced the signing of Bo Davis, a 6-0, 175-pound, outfielder from West Lauderdale High School in Meridian, Miss., to a national letter of intent for the 2004-05 academic year. This marks the first signee of the spring period and eighth signing overall for the Golden Eagles.
"I'm excited that Bo has decided to attend Southern Miss," Palmer said. "He is a good athlete who is an outstanding outfielder. He will add speed to our lineup next season and is a good hitter who can hit for average and has a lot of power."
Davis is a three-year letterwinner for Coach Jerry Boatner at West Lauderdale. As a senior, he is currently hitting .481 with nine doubles, two triples, six home runs and has scored 37 runs. He has a slugging percentage of .770 and an on-base percentage of .588. He has helped lead West Lauderdale to a 26-6 record, a top 10 state ranking in the MHSAA Poll and currently an appearance in the second round of the state playoffs.
