Exclamation Make Your Case for Which 10 Games Get the Primo 3 P.M. NFL Network Kickoffs
[Image: ?u=http%3A%2F%2Fsportsvideo.org%2Fmain%2...mp;amp;f=1]

This is a slow time on the board so...

We know C-USA will have 10 games air on the NFL Network this season. And the games are set for fan friendly 3 p.m. kickoffs too. Thanks to the people at conferenceusa.com we know that FIU @ Louisiana Tech has been moved to Friday Sept. 20 (CBSSports?). Marshall @ Florida Atlantic has been moved to Friday Oct. 18 (CBSSports?). And, Louisiana Tech @ Marshall has been moved to Friday Nov. 15 (CBSSports?). So those games will not be under consideration.

Make a case for which home games you feel should get the coveted featured game each week spots on the NFL Network. You do not have to make a case for only your team's games. Hopefully, we can use this thread to identify the best weekly match-ups that have the best chance at being entertaining and help elevate the perception of this conference. This should be fun. Here are the possible dates. This should be fun.

Week 1 (8-31)
Week 2 (9-7)
Week 3 (9-14)
Week 4 (9-21)
Week 5 (9-28)
Week 6 (10-5)
Week 7 (10-12)
Week 8 (10-19)
Week 9 (10-26)
Week 10 (11-2)
Week 11 (11-9)
Week 12 (11-16)
Week 13 (11-23)
Week 14 (11-30)

1st week is between FAU/Ohio State, MTSU/Michigan, and LaTech/Texas.

Congrats on these signature games. The NFL network is on most cable and satellite networks basic packages.

Great opponents, but our teams are not hosting those games, so they are not options for the NFL Network. We have to host the games for them to fall under our media deal. This fact is one of the main reasons our media package is worth crap.

Thanks. Congrats on owning the AAC and the access bowl. I hope we can change the latter at some point.

Sorry, but who cares about VMI, Central Arkansas, or the Dakota School for Def and Blind that are coming to the C-USA campuses during the first week?

At least, in the second week we have UCF coming to FAU.

I agree, it will be a major candidate for the spot when we get to Week 2.

I also agree, but we need a game for Week 1, so I nominate Incarnate Word @ UTSA. They are both from San Antonio, and should pull a large crowd that would look good on TV.

Unless someone objects, I will tentatively place this game in Week 1, and we can begin debating Week 2.

An FCS program. They are not particularly good, but are located in San Antonio, so they should start UTSA off with a good 30K+ attendance for Week 1. Here is a link to their site.

Well, that's one game I wouldn't watch.

Week 5 - Cincy @ Marshall should be a good OOC match up in Huntington
Week 14 - FIU @ Marshall (depending) this could be for the East Division and who plays in the CUSA championship game.

Rice is hosting Texas in Week 3, and WKU is hosting Louisville, so the Ohio game probably won't get the spot.

Cinci @ Marshall in Week 5 looks promising, but Houston will be at North Texas that week too. I know the media is big on Houston's $4 million commitment to their new coach. So our game might get the nod.

I agree on Week 14. I also think Marshall @ MT in Week 6, Marshall @ FAU in Week 8, and LA Tech @ Marshall in Week 12 could be selected.

I agree, and since we only get 10 games over 14 weeks, I believe it will and should be passed over by the NFL Network. But for the sake of this thread, I included it.

We've already announced the Texas game as a night game (but now actually I see UT's schedule lists it TBA). I'm hoping it stays a night game for selfish reasons. But I suppose either that week or the following week (Baylor at Rice) might be attractive games for the NFL Network. The Baylor game is also currently listed as a night game.

Week 1 Norfolk state at ODU. Brand new stadium opening verse a cross town school. Week 5 ecu @odu. But there seems to be a lot of competition for that week. Haven't really looked at our conference slate yet.

Those burdened with the decision-making process will have a very hard-to-make decision for most weeks. I am noticing a regional bias in how we're approaching this. Not unexpectedly, of course.
