Online Sports Betting
Tennessee has become the first state to allow online-only sports betting. So no trips to Tunica to place your bets.

https://www.localmemphis.com/news/local-...9bbbaP12m8

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee is about to become the first state in the nation to offer an online-only sportsbook as the governor says he has reluctantly allowed a sports betting proposal to become law without his signature.

However, Gov. Bill Lee on Friday warned that any future attempt to expand gambling throughout the state would result in a veto.

Lee announced he was allowing the bill to become enacted because it did not "pursue casinos," which he said encourages criminal activity.

The legislation, which has a July 1 effective date, would allow regulated statewide mobile and interactive sports gambling for people 21 and older.

The proposal is projected to bring in more than $50 million annually.

States are increasingly legalizing sports betting after the U.S. Supreme Court cleared the way last year.

Rural hospitals are closing at an alarming rate, the education system is in crisis, meth and opiate addictions are crippling the lower class, and this clown is busy with online gambling? Something I have always been able to do as a Tennessee citizen, and have since I was nineteen years old?

Sounds about right for Nashville.

Posted the entire story and you STILL ignore the facts. The governor is against this type of activity but is allowing the bill to become law WITHOUT his signature. He is not wasting his time on anything.

It is also projected to produce over $50 million a year in tax revenue.

Be careful. Casinos prey on a lot of people you are trying to SJW for.

Mississippi has had casinos for 27 years.

Mississippi is ranked 50th of all states in per capita income.

Mississippi has a 8.9% unemployment rate compared to a national average of 3.8%.

Mississippi is ranked 50th in poverty rate.

The people of the state of Mississippi are the ones dying on the hill and the casinos aren’t coming to help.

Mississippi is far from the only state with casinos. And Mississippi's perpetual status at the bottom of your lists is independent of casinos.

People are going to get their fix however. Just like prohibition didn't stop drinkers, or the war on drugs stop junkies ruining themselves, if people want to gamble, they're going to.
