Vince Alexander, the head coach at St. Leo and formerly USC-Aiken is our replacement for Kreider.

RE: New Assistant MBB Coach
Think there are probably some positives and negatives to the hire. I don't dislike the fact that we went after a local non-D1 guy, but I'm not sure what to think of his track record. For one, I would have loved to see us go after a defensive minded coach. St. Leo's allowed more than 75 points per game in its last 3 years (75, 76, and 78). I assume that's partially a product of his preferred fast style of play, but not exactly encouraging for a team that has had major struggles on D. But I imagine he will help recruit locally and he obviously brings with him a lot of experience. And honestly just good to have a third assistant coach. Kind of a ragtag crew between him, Green, and Linebaugh. Lifetime d2 head coach, recent graduate with basically no experience, and then a guy with d1 assistant experience.

Also I'm pretty sure we just copy and pasted his biography from St. Leo's website.

FYI ... His W-L record at St. Leo's (which is located northeast of Tampa, Fla.):

Season -- Overall (Conference)
2015-16 -- 19-12 (10-6)
2016-17 -- 12-15 (6-11)
2017-18 -- 12-19 (8-12)
2018-19 -- 13-16 (10-10)

I like the hire. He goes back a long way with Pera, which presumably means that Pera knows him pretty well.

There's a much more extensive bio on the South Carolina-Aiken website: https://pacersports.com/coaches.aspx?rc=163

In the press release, he says he's excited about coming home. So I'll assume he's a Houston native (he played collegiately both at Blinn and then a school in Oklahoma).

I assume this is the same St. Leo's we played in hoops this year. Obviously he and Pera go way back so the loyalty factor should be strong.
