Did you buy season tickets? There is a map in the season ticket book. I'm not sure I see one online anywhere. The sales areas will be in designated concourse areas, I do not think they are with concessions spots. If I recall they are in the corners of the main concourses, and on the ground level behind the endzone. I am unsure if there are any on the Godwin side, and there may not be based on the assumption that most of that side is students/underage. Your closest may be ground level in the endzone (behind the band).

Yes, the map is in season tickets. They left out the whole area near the entrance gate. So if your on the lower level, you will walk all the way to endzone corner where the MRD's are seated to get to a beer stand. Its really an idiotic move to leave out a huge section of the stadium.

Thought the same thing. .. need a beer stand near the entrance gates... otherwise we are looking at ridiculous lines on the lower concourse.

To avoid lines and get immediate delicious suds, can I get someone in the collar section 309 to man the beer bong down to the lower level ?

probably a life safety hazard (or even just a bad idea) or something to block the main entry point of the stadium with a beer line. If you want the suds you'll go get em. It's not that far to walk.

Yep. I noticed that too. Hopefully they quickly realize what a mistake that was. They also need one all but near the student sections for those in sections 6-8.

the ID station and serving area being in separate corners on the lower level has me scratching my head... but I guess we'll see how this works in a couple of days.

Do bold rock, devils backbone or three notch’d have any affiliation with JMU? I think some VA breweries are JMU alum owned and/or operated but I forget which ones.

Had the opportunity to buy beer at the stadium today. It is an easy process to get your Id checked and have a wristband. After the I'd check you sre free to buy beer. Bought two beers. Easy process and it seems like it was quite successful. I did not notice anyone being obnoxious or unruly.

It looked like the system was working. Didn’t observe any problems...although I did see what appeared to be “straw purchases”...not sure what can be done about that.

Agree....seemed like JMU did a good job on their homework with the system they have in place. I did not hear one negative work from anyone on the process. Job well done by all.

Also, the stadium entry, with metal detectors and clear bags was very smooth.

Since the wife didn't want a huge black X on her hand I'll admit I may have shared with her. My only suggestion would be a smaller "over 21 mark"

Is the only place to get you ID checked and a bracelet outside the stadium or was there somewhere inside to get checked/tagged?

I saw one very minor case in our section where a women carrying two beers tripped coming up the stairs and splashed beer on a couple of people. She was pretty lit before the game so the inside beer sales probably had little to do with the incident. Maybe not open the beers at the stand?

RMC did a great job with getting folks in the doors, looks like they brought in some extra folks for the first time around. This wasn't their first rodeo but for many of the fans it may have been so they were certainly prepared. It was nice that they aren't doing the unnecessary "everything out of your pockets and hands" which at least doubles the time it takes to get a person thru the detectors. (Take note VCU basketball)

I am not sure of all the id check stations at BFS. I did not notice the one outside but then again was not looking for it. I used the ID check station on one of the concourses and literally took 30 seconds.

Yeah I liked not forcing to empty pockets unless there is a reason to do so, which most of the time there is not as the metal detectors are typically not tuned to be that sensitive but that can vary based on location and past issues. I am sure the metal detectors is more about standardization and not b/c of past concerns at BFS. I find the process slightly annoying but not something to make a fuss over. Just an effort to be proactive and harden soft-targets.

I didn't have any intention of buying stadium beers... then my seat neighbors kept buying them for me. We are a friendly bunch at JMU aren't we. I'll say this though - you might want to get the wristband even if you're not buying the drinks. Stadium staff are to confiscate beer from you if you're not wristbanded. I didn't learn it the hard way but I easily could have. Ultimately I went and got a wristband and it took no more than 60 seconds. I expected delays at the metal detectors and beer lines but even with a 22.5K crowd things were very smooth last weekend.

That was really weird, I’ve never seen anywhere put a black X on your hand to show that you can drink, I really don’t get the point. As far as opening them though, that’s to prevent the possibility of being able to throw full, unopened cans.
