Athletics Town Hall Meeting with Huge
https://tribeathletics.com/news/2019/5/2...ssion.aspx

I don't live anywhere near Williamsburg, so I won't be attending.

This could be interesting.

It will be on the W&M Facebook page, so I'll be able to listen that way.

"If you have a question you would like to ask at the event, please submit below."

But it says there will be a question & answer session. So, maybe some are for prepared answers and some off the cuff.

Kudos to AD Huge for this move. I doubt she will say anything that makes us happier with the situation, but it is easier to stomach when the AD is willing to be upfront and take questions on the matter. I think better communication is an essential first step towards getting someone like me to start donating again. I applaud her move here.

Unfortunately, the horse is already out the door and is circling Pimlico as we speak without a jockey. Kudos to her for having the onions to have this but, for civility and respect sake, I do not believe that anyone here with the strongest of views against what she has done to our basketball program would choose to dress her down in a public forum as that would just not be right.

“The Town Hall will be the first of a series of engagement opportunities for Tribe fans and alumni to ask questions and learn about William & Mary Athletics, both present and future.”

What word is missing from that sentence?

Might just be a way to help it run smoother. Like if a bunch of people submit the same questions she can just answer the most common ones at the start.

When you fill out the attendance form they also have a spot where you can put in questions.

Right. It's for those who register

Really? So I'm supposed to drive over two hours each way to ask a soft ball question? Cowardice is posting anonymously but curling up in a shell when you have an opportunity to voice your points.

If people want questions answered AND they can make this TH, this is a perfect chance to get it on the record.

Wow ... my bad!

So, I register, and I submit “what the hell were you thinking?”. Do I get to ask that question, does my question get read, or am I blackballed?

On the other hand, I register, and I submit “I’d like to talk about your plans to diversify our athletics department”, can I, when called upon, say “what the hell were you thinking?”?

Thank you for posting this.

I have registered, and will take the day off, and drive down and back, to register my displeasure and ask my one question.

This is a remarkably gutsy move ad by the AD...unprecedented as far as I know.

Whatever one thinks of her and her moves she deserves all the credit for this.

Tribal, I am with you 100% here if you can stomach up the intestinal fortitude to do it because on this subject I am in your camp. I just don't think that my set are brass enough to confront her in public the way that I would if she walked up to me in a private setting and asked me what I thought. And I have already chosen to stay as far away from her as I possibly can next year.

Go for it.

I get it. I "speculate" she knows she will field challenging questions and she knows, basically, how those questions will be asked. A group of confidants will practice hurling them at her over and over (that's known as a "murder board") until she adequately refines her responses. She will focus on answering confidently and without emotion. If someone asks an unexpected question, she will talk around it, answer without actually answering, or state that she cannot answer because she doesn't recall or because the information is privileged. AD Huge is a pro and she'll be ready.

I’m granting partial credit at this phase. I’d love to give full credit, but she has to be willing to really answer questions. I will even give some leeway that there are some I can’t realistically expect her to answer (although I have no problem with people asking them). If she no comments and deflects all questions that don’t fit her narrative, it will not be “all the credit” in my book.
