I've never understood the infatuation with Saddi as a possible head coach.
Yes, a good player. Yes, at time of success in the NCAA. But that's it. Good player doesn't equate to good coach. It also doesnt mean he wont be but the extrapolation and nose in the navel perspective is
I have my issues with Hawk too but no more than I'd have with any other coach. Maybe slightly different issues as everyone is different but overall he's fine.
I understand the "Izzo" works incredibly hard perspective. There are a lot of moving parts to that equation and being roughly the same age and general life circumstances (married with children [g-children]) it isn't a zero sum game.
I also worked very closely with and knew personally a number of D1 coaches in their prime who were Final 4 participants and are HOF. There is so much involved and variable to each. You cant honestly "stamp them" as the same.
Was at a social function recently of like aged and positioned individuals one evening. After an hour I excused myself because I had prep work for a meeting I was heading the next day. The looks I got were hilarious. Attorney, semi-retired health care, IT guy, RE broker all wondered aloud why I was working at night.
Point being though we have much in common it ain't the same.
Hawk and Izzo have in common being HC's at D1 levels. They're married with children. But even being HC's at D1 level the differences start.
But he makes X$. If I were in his shoes ....blah blah blah. You are not so shut up and stop being delusional. You have no clue.
