I can't take that list seriously since Lawler and Big Jack aren't on it. 03-wink

I think the criteria is either having played here or being from here.

While they certainly deserve to be on it, it is still a pretty good list.

RE: Memphis Sports Hall of Fame inductees announced
The committee was heavily slanted to push certain sports. Not all sports were properly represented in the committee.

The Memphis Sports Council's webpage list all the local sports facilities including disc golf, fencing and yes Wrestling. Yet omits the oldest professional sports facility in the Memphis metro area.

They lazily included Memphis International Raceway under the heading NASCAR/NHRA.

THE PARENT COMPANY OF MIR OWNS THE IHRA. MIR IS AN IHRA TRACK NOT NHRA.

This shows just how much effort they put into motorsports and where it sits in the eyes of the Memphis Sports Council committee.

Bill Dance but no DeAngelo Williams?

I have no idea who Cindy Parlow or Melanie Smith Taylor are.

HOF's used to mean something. I have a buddy that made the Park Commission HOF for touch football. I went and couldn't help but laugh.

Parlow was a soccer star at UNC, then in the olympics with a gold medal. I knew her whenshe was a little kid. Melanie Taylor Smith, I have no idea either.

Melanie is not just a gold medal winner. She is the voice of NBC's national Equestrian broadcasts. Millions of horse enthusiast the world over love her no none sense take on the art of the horse. She is the Bill Nance of horses competitions.

She has a huge impact on how the world see's Memphis. Her vs DWill is apples and oranges. Economically it's probably something of a push. Brand management and marketing might give Melanie the edge because she has a world wide following....

The both should get in.

Lawler and DeAngelo both are huge snubs.

That does not mean Olympic gold medalists should not be there.

28.5% of the class were former Tigers. You can't add them all in the first year.
