What a performance by Trey Jeans! ULM bats were live tonight and I think I heard the announcers say we have won 10 of our last 16 games. I worry about our pitching depth, but sure will take being in the winner’s bracket. Much respect for the Bobcats. We beat a very good team tonight.

RE: Sun Belt Baseball Championship Games (May 21st-26th) [Conway, SC]
This was about our 4th-5th worst loss of the season.

1. 3-1 at home to GSU
2. 3-0 at App
3. Corpus game at home early in the season when the bullpen imploded
4. @ UTSA a couple weeks ago to break out 10 game winning streak.

Just to clear that up...

We're an ultra weak 1-seed. Hate to say it, but its true. Benefitted this season from the top of the league weakening. Still happy as hell to get the regular season championship but doubling down with a tournament championship gonna be really, really difficult now. At least Lewis ate up a lot of innings so our bullpen isn't already gassed.

Worst part though is we may have ended our chances of an at-large bid tonight. We're certainly out tonight if the tourney ended today. May be able to climb back into range with 3-4 wins without winning the tourney but not sure.

Jeans dominated us tonight. Only mustered 3 hits and were shutout. Fraze had his worst outing of the year at a really bad time. Bad combo.

Not really looking forward to facing Coastal tomorrow already in an elimination game.

Goodnight, going to cry myself to sleep.

RE: Sun Belt Baseball Championship Games (May 21st-26th) [Conway, SC]
In a little late to the start time discussion, but I think it just adds to the pressure and excitement. I’m sure players and coaches may think differently, but as a fan I can appreciate games dragging on due to the added pressure of every pitch.

One of my top GS sports memories of all time was born from an out-of-control conference baseball tournament schedule. In 2011, GS had the 7:30 game on the first night of the tournament. I heard that the game before it went extra innings and then went to finish up at work. I met up with some friends at a bar and - at 11:00 - checked my phone to see that the other game was still going. That game ended up going 19 (I think) innings and ended after midnight.

Sometime around the 17th, I got confirmation that the GS game was still going to be played. I jumped in a car with a couple of friends and high-tailed it from Statesboro to Charleston. We got there in the second inning and celebrated an Eagle win that wrapped up around 4:15 am.

33-year old me wouldn’t survive that adventure nowadays, but that was a fun night/morning.

Ragin' Cajuns up 3-0 on Troy in the bottom of the 4th (loser goes home)! Coastal's playing next to take on the number one seeded Bobcats in an elimination game starting 12:30p. Also on today's slate: #3 Little Rock plays #2 Georgia Southern (4p) & #4 UTA vs. #10 ULM (7:30p)...

I thought we lost our shot at an at large when we dropped the series to Little Rock earlier this month. Or even when we lost to Georgia State before that.

We have been choking since the UTSA loss though. We have now lost 6 of our last 11 and haven’t looked as good as we did during our 10 game win streak. This is basically the basketball season all over again.

Continuing to show that we can't put it all together in the big 3 revenue sports.

Read my other posts. I am in no way blaming the loss on that one call lol.

We played one of our worst games of the season and your pitcher had a great night. Combine those 2 factors and the 8-0 loss makes sense. Just sucks that we experienced it in the tournament instead of during the regular season.

Don't worry, Texas State fans, our pitchers will toss enough wild throws to make sure you get the runs you need to win today!03-banghead03-weeping03-puke[Image: serveimage?url=http:%2F%2Fgiant.gfycat.c...d1ed4b8760]

Troy's tearin' it up! It's 7-3 Trojans in the top of the 7th. Let's see if the momentum swings back to the Ragin' Cajuns now...

Troy 10, Louisiana 3 in top of the 8th! Momentum stuck with the Trojans. At least we won't have to worry about the next game being delayed while waiting for this one to finish...

You can use this logic but you guys hosted a few years back, voluntarily chose the late start time, and got screwed by weather forcing a doubleheader.

Coastal is the first host in years to not take the late game. A wise decision that many a good teams have refused to make

A wise decision? Didn’t they lose in that earlier time slot? I guess if the point was to lose and still manage to get in a good night’s sleep, then yeah wise.

It’s not about game 1 it’s about game 2. They got to sit at home watching while you burned the midnight oil

I wouldn't be shocked at all if neither of the top 2 seeds are playing Sunday.

I mean, other than Texas State we probably have the best pitching depth in the league (which isn't saying much), but we really started getting shaky in the last few weeks and it was covered up by playing an Ark State team that crashed and burned late in the season and playing probably the worst Sun Belt team we've ever played in Georgia State (who we very nearly lost the series to).

Well, looks like the more things change, the more they stay the same. Yet another good regular season performance resulting in absolutely nothing of importance.
