Any opiate/opiod is much worse, imo.
Prescription drugs are not the issue. It’s illegal prescription drugs usually combined with another prescription drug like Fentanyl that leads the younger generation into this addiction path. Next step is heroin which is much cheaper and easier to get than prescription opiates.
DEA has taken $10B in funding from chasing cartels and gangs importing/manufacturing heroin, cocaine and meth to chasing pill mill clinics and at the same time legitimate doctors who prescribe “too many” pain pills. DEA has every doctor in TN scared to even write an pain pill RX while cartels are racking up with heroin and the others. It doesn’t make sense.
Adults over 50 who have held a job for 10 years or more constitute less than 5% of illegal drug use. I’ve been researching this after discussing with my Dr who hates the stricter laws in TN which are the strictest in the nation. In case you are wondering. It has become popular with media and thus politically correct while veterans wounded in Middle East and Those with chronic pain have trouble getting pain meds.

Wonder if Evans has a chronic pain issue-lower back, for instance.
I hope he can get clean.

Doubtful at that age. I suspect it was an illegal substance for 2cd time. Most likely coke to lose 2 years. Just a GUESS.

Tyreke is a strange dude. I’ve met numerous former Tigers and have a few friends who were on staff/played w Tyreke and even they say he was kind of an ass.

https://www.statnews.com/2016/09/29/why-...an-heroin/
The opioid crisis just keeps getting worse, in part because new types of drugs keep finding their way onto the streets. Fentanyl, heroin’s synthetic cousin, is among the worst offenders.
It’s deadly because it’s so much stronger than heroin, as shown by the photograph above, which was taken at the New Hampshire State Police Forensic Laboratory. On the left is a lethal dose of heroin, equivalent to about 30 milligrams; on the right is a 3-milligram dose of fentanyl, enough to kill an average-sized adult male.
Fentanyl, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, is up to 100 times more potent than morphine and many times that of heroin.
Drugs users generally don’t know when their heroin is laced with fentanyl, so when they inject their usual quantity of heroin, they can inadvertently take a deadly dose of the substance. In addition, while dealers try to include fentanyl to improve potency, their measuring equipment usually isn’t fine-tuned enough to ensure they stay below the levels that could cause users to overdose. Plus, the fentanyl sold on the street is almost always made in a clandestine lab; it is less pure than the pharmaceutical version and thus its effect on the body can be more unpredictable.

He averaged 19.5 ppg for Grizz in 17-18 and 10 ppg this year for a Pacers team that didn’t understand how to use him.

Nah, not true, can't blame his play on the Pacers. Tyreke was just bad this year. He was 6th man, which is his best position. Then Oladipo got hurt, and the Pacers let him start for a while, but he wasn't good there either. Pacers got Wes Mathews off the scrap pile, and he came in and took the SG starter spot. Pacers had 5th best record in the East, they couldn't keep going with a player not producing.
Tyreke's ppg dropped from 19.4 to 10.2. PER dropped from 21.1 to 11.5, 15 is the PER for an average player. Shot 40% from the field. He had a negative 13 net rating (94 Ortg and 107 Drtg). Pacers had 5th best record in the East, they couldn't keep going with a player not producing.
Tyreke regressed badly, can't blame that on the Pacers.

RE: Wow Tyreke
he can always find a decent euro league team to play with...Greece would probably pay him 250-300k to come hoop it up with ole Nick Calathes.
good luck to you Reke!

Evan's has made $76 million in his NBA career, making a couple hundred thousand dollars in a year is not probably in his future

Reke is at his best at ISO or pick and roll going downhill to the basket; needs room to do that. The few Pacer games I watched, it seemed as he was 4th to 5th option and stood around perimeter a lot.
But I think you are right in that he regressed as his 3 pt shooting went down along with other stats. So a combination of the two. BTW Tigers had back to back ROYs in NBA. That’s a big deal.

Maybe the drop had more to do with the reason he can’t play for two years, or maybe ever again in the NBA
