RE: Memphis Roster 19-20
Even if Achiuwa and Wiseman and even Ellis and Jefferies were one and done, this is STILL a really good class.

Should be in contention for the next 2-3 years based on this class alone, combined with Lomax and Harris.

20-21 will have Really good juniors and really good sophomores regardless

All qualified by potential if dramatic numbers of transfers

But even if the highest four recruits do leave after one year, and that is unlikely, that would still leave really good players in Dandridge, Quinones and Baugh, a solid class in a vacuum

In my opinion Lester will not come off the bench all year. Too good a shooter. And for whatever it’s worth I’m hearing a lineup of Wiseman, Achiuwa, Tucker, Quinones, Boogie is and has been discussed. Quinones was big in helping Penny and Miller pull in both Boogie and Precious.

RE: Memphis Roster 19-20
Boogie - Shooting, athleticism and good size for a college PG
Tucker - Shooting, athleticism and decent size for a college SG (small for a SF)
DJ - Good size and length and should be great at slashing and getting to the rim
Precious - Excellent athlete and should be a great rim protector
Wiseman - #1 player for a lot of reasons

Bringing in Harris, Alo, Lester, etc. give you lots of options in adjusting the second unit to the needs of each in particular game and situation in the game.

I agree...with Quinones' size and shooting ability, I believe he starts eventually.

C - Wiseman
PF - Achiuwa
SF - Tucker/DJ
SG - Quinones
PG - Boogie

Boogie, Tucker, Tyler and Lester give us a TON of 3pt shooting. Could be the best group of shooters we have ever had at once.

What a dynamite inside out game we can have. And if Wiseman and Precious can defend the paint like projected....

Then add in the hybrid 2-3-4 skills of DJ and possibly even Watford?

33+ wins, a conf title and a deep NCAA run would be a conservative estimate.

No doubt.

Tucker can really shoot the 3 too, shot 41% last year and put up 6 attempts a game. It looks like Boogie is a deadly 3pt shooter as well. And we already have a pure shooter in Tyler.

Tucker will be 22 when the season starts.

Like a said expect a 3 guard lineup to begin with Tucker unless he’s gone and then it’s DJ

Been a fan since the early 70s...this is the biggest 1-year turnaround in talent improvement I've ever seen with our basketball program...simply amazing! 04-rock

Practices will be the best they have been since Cal was here. You can probably make two top 25 teams from that roster.

RE: Memphis Roster 19-20
The nucleus for 2020-21 is amazing too.

5s:
Dandrige- Sophmore

4s:
Thomas - Junior
Watford - Sophmore

Wings:
DJ- Sophmore
Boyce - Sophmore

Guards:
Boogie - Sophmore
ALo - Junior
Tyler - Junior
Lester - Sophmore
Baugh- Sophmore
Hardaway - Sophmore

After this year we are one big away from arguably being just as good if not better, if we are able to get a top 50 big. Wiseman's replacement won't be as good, but everyone else will have a year more of experience...and won't have a senior on the roster.

Plus having 3 elite outside shooters along with Precious and Wiseman makes it deadly

He averages right at 7 rebounds a game. He makes sense as a traditional 3. Will crash the boards instead of getting back early to stop a fact break.

I would imagine a couple of months of workouts and practice will determine the starting lineup and rotation. That is subject to change during the season.

Good call on Precious today!

DJ is a transformational type player at the 3. We haven’t had anyone similar in that spot since Cedric Henderson. I’m not sure I’d start Quinones over DJ.

I believe the starting line up might be different every single game until maybe February. Which will be good for errbody.
