The 15th Annual Greater Houston Lacrosse Party on Memorial Day, May 27, will celebrate the 2019 season for all teams and will pay tribute to two beloved giants of Texas lacrosse: Ralph O'Connor and Angie Kensinger. Please join us on Memorial Day.

Founded in 2005, the Greater Houston Lacrosse Party celebrates the fastest game on two feet and brings together everyone involved in the sport -- from youth to post-collegiate, men and women, players, coaches, officials, parents, alumni, fans and newcomers to the game. Coinciding with the national broadcast of the NCAA men's championship game. It is the longest-running lacrosse event of its kind in the United States.

After a decade of support from US Lacrosse, the 2019 edition is hosted by the Texas Lacrosse Officials Association (http://www.txloa.net).

Two gripping quarterfinals today, both going to overtime:
Virginia 13-12 over Maryland, and Duke 14-13 over Notre Dame. So one of the seminfals for next weekend's Final Four will be Duke against Virginia.

Tomorrow's quarterfinals are #1 seed Penn State v. Loyola, and defending champion Yale v. Penn. Those games are at 11 AM and 1:30 PM Central on ESPNU.

What a crazy weekend: Penn State beat Loyola by a touchdown 21-14, and Yale outgunned Penn 19-18 in overtime. So three of the four quarterfinal games went to extra time.

So the Final Four are #1 Penn State v. defending champion Yale, and #2 Duke against #3 Virginia. The winners will meet on Memorial Day, and the Houston community will be watching at BWW in Midtown. Details at:

The semifinals are underway, and the first one looks like it will be close: tied at 1-all midway through the first quarter.
