RE: The 2019 Football Preseason Prediction Poll
Got some feedback...I will be thrilled with 3 or 4 wins but now expect 2. QB will be adequate...the rest of our offense will be marginal at BEST. Defense is way behind and has some major gaps. I had hoped we could steal the ECU game but that is highly unlikely.

I think the major concern with the offense is that with our talent at RB, we would like to be a run first team. We don't have the offensive line to back that up. So we are going to live and die by our young WRs.
The defensive line is going to be a problem. Derek Wilder should not be a starting DE in CUSA.

That’s disappointing. I really want to beat the Pirates and was hoping for 4 or 5 wins (maybe a miracle 6th). Maybe it’s just as well. There should be almost no question about making a coaching change with 2 or 3 wins. 5 would cause people to argue for another season. I guess we will see. I’ll be there cheering.

Marcus Haynes and Keion White have looked pretty darn good in camp; Im more concerned about the interior DL.
On offense, I don't believe the OL to be the major issue. Our run game will be effective if the QB can keep teams honest. I'm not sure they can at this point.

Every year we hear the mantra of run first beaten into the ground. I don't get it. Nobody in college football is run first unless you are Alabama or run the option. Nobody any good, at least. The reality of college football in 2019 is that if you can't throw the ball first, you aren't going to run it. Defenses are to big and too fast these days to just pound it up the gut and win games with 3 yards and a cloud of dust. Hell, Clemson is passing Alabama at this point because they can't even run the ball well enough to win against the best competition without throwing the ball 30 times a game. If we can't establish the passing game, forget about the running game. If we can throw the ball well, we will probably be just fine on the ground. QBs need to run for first downs too. That is a major part of a good running and passing game in this era of college football.
