He was still a work in progress, but we definitely could use his defense and rebounding next year. Hopefully this is the last of the hits. Brannen is going to definitely have to bring in a 5th year big, for depth.

Honestly don’t think finding upgrades should be that difficult.

Do these guys just not like Brannen? Or they liked Cronin that much?

Or is it a "jump on the transfer bandwagon" sort of thing?

How long does this "portal" stay open? Can a player declare for it at any time?

I've been thinking about entering the message board portal and transferring to another board.

I'm ok with losing a guy who had awful feet, couldn't catch a ball, and was literally a vacuous pocket of air on offense. Don't think we'll have trouble filling in for those skills.

I think on BCJ this was going to happen regardless of the coach.

Honestly most of guys gone were projects or low end recruits. Brooks was a contributor and Johnson had potential

If Cumberland returns we are good again, if he doesn’t let’s rebuild with Brannen guys and Cronin low end role players.

I dont totally disagree. But he is still a big, physic body that can play D and give us 5 fouls. Depth is going to be an issue

RE: Nsoseme now gone
Nsoseme was a very good rebounder and a solid defender. On offense, though, he really could only set picks and get putbacks. Passing it to him was basically a turnover. I know he had some injuries too. He's got some skills and seems to know where his circle of competence ends, so he can be an asset to some team, and I hope he finds a good spot. But this is not a big loss. Need some bodies though.

If you transfer, you have to sit out a year before you can post again

RE: Nsoseme now gone
Considering how accurate the rumors have been, I'm expecting Moore to announce he is transferring soon. He is the last one rumored to be thinking of going.

The biggest concern with Nsoseme is Prince, this is a quote from an article when Prince was recruited:
Quote:Cincinnati also had another ace in the hole as Gillam and fellow Congo native and current Cincinnati sophomore Eliel Nsoseme had a long standing relationship dating back to their youth.

Nsoseme was offensively challenged, but I am convinced that injuries played a part in that. He moves as well as any big man I have seen and if he can develop the basketball skills he has the size, athleticism and mobility to play in the NBA. Transferring shouldn't hurt him as he probably should have been a redshirt anyway to give him more time to develop. It does leave a big(ger) void for us at center. Diarra is the only one left and he still needs to develop a lot too. Center and PG are both currently huge concerns for next year.

Unless you transfer from one "P" board to another "P" board to be a starter.

I apologize if this was posted somewhere else, but I didn't see it.

Cincinnati Bearcats standout Jarron Cumberland was not among 10 players advancing from the NBA G League Elite Camp that concluded Tuesday to the NBA Combine, per a report via Twitter from ESPN's Jonathan Givony, which could increase the likelihood that he'll withdraw his name from NBA Draft consideration and continue to play college basketball.

This means i will now be looking for nominations for the "worst ft shooter in the world". However, as i've been corrected on, Mick said he had improved a great deal this year before his injury.

RE: Nsoseme now gone
I'd feel a little better if all these guys were leaving because they felt like they were being pushed out by better guys that were being brought in. Maybe that is the case in some sort of reverse way, but we'll see.

There was a huge drop off from Brooks to Nsosome. I was actually getting to the point where I was more comfortable with Diarra in there instead.

I'm not real broken up about hearing this, but I guess I'd just like to be seeing some decent replacements showing up.

I didn't think Brannen seemed like a guy that would repel people, so I have to think that these guys were just comfortable with Tyrion Lannister in charge and maybe Brannen indicated that they may have to... I don't know... maybe work a little harder than they had been? Maybe?

RE: Nsoseme now gone
Interesting how all the guys transferring out really couldnt shoot the ball worth a darn. Could it be they were not going to adapt well to CBJ’s offensive philosophy? 4 prototypical Mick recruits gone opens the way for Brannen’s floor stretching guys. May be a bit of a rebuild next season, but could pay dividends in the long run allowing Brannen to install his system sooner with guys that can actually play in it.

My favorite was Kenny Belton almost air balling back to back FTs 02-13-banana

Belton made 8/22 for 36.4 FT% in his brief (injuries I believe) Bearcat career
Nsoseme made 17/52 for 33 FT% in his two season Bearcat career

Yes... all depends on JC. Brooks was a bonafide loss, but even so, he was a 25 minutes tops guy, due to fouls. Out of all the rest, I really hope Lo returns.

Nsoseme leaving is about the same as losing a "walk on".
