Thanks guys. I get it on Fios on NBCSWA NBC Sports Washington. So I've set up a recording in regular definition and will watch it in high definition.

Swofford on the ACC Network launch:
https://www.dailypress.com/sports/column...story.html

Among other things, he says they didn't anticipate having Comcast on board this soon.

My prediction is that if Comcast isn't on board by mid-November, they're not getting on board until they renew their full network carriage agreement with Disney.

From the link:
Quote:The ACC Network’s major carriage void is Xfinity Comcast, the nation’s, and Virginia’s, largest cable firm. Its current agreement to carry other Disney channels doesn’t expire until 2021.

“ESPN/Disney and Comcast are having discussions,” Swofford said, “and I’m sure will continue to have. That’s ESPN’s thing, so to speak. That’s not something we do or have any experience in. We think they’re the best out there in distribution negotiations. So we’ll see.

“We didn’t anticipate in our initial projections Comcast being on board at this point. So we hope the quality of what the network is and the desire of people to see it will enter into those discussions, and I’m sure they will and Comcast will be on board sooner rather than later.”

Which used to mean Raycom Sports Network but I think now means Regional Sports Network. So is this game going to be syndicated locally or on MASN or Comcast sports network and I don't have to do any thing to see the game? Or do I have to subscribe to ESPN+ so that I can tap into ACCNX broadcasts?

edit: I currently have Verizon Fios. So I get all the ESPN and assorted sports channels except the P12 networks.

If you have the ACCN through your TV package, I think you can access any ACCNX content through the ESPN App. I watched a Pitt Volleyball game on the ESPN App last week. It was an ACCNX broadcast. If any of you don't have a Roku, they are great for sports fans. I can log into the ESPN and Fox Apps and stream a game on the TV, one on the computer, and one on the ipad. You can pick they up for about $20 with a quick google search.

Basically, if you're within a market area for one of the local ACC area RSNs, you cannot receive the ACCNX feed. These include NESN, YES, AT&T Sportsnet Pittsburgh, CSN Washington, Fox Sports Carolinas, Fox Sports South, and Fox Sports Florida. Basically the entire Atlantic seaboard, New England, New York State, PA except Philadelphia, WV, VA, NC, SC, GA and FL.

You can receive ACCNX. I’ve done it. You just can’t access anything broadcast on a RSN.

Hmm. My experience is that RSN games are blacked out on ACCNX in my area because it's within the NESN footprint, which stunk when I didn't have NESN for a while. Other ACCNX games were available with authentication (from Sling at the time). I now have Youtube TV, which does carry NESN, NESNplus, ACCN, and authenticates ACCNX!!!

RE: ACC Network
Now that the TV confirmations for week 11 have been finalized, it looks like the ACCN will have aired 35 football games through week 11. Assuming the originally announced total of 40 games is still accurate, that means there are 5 games left for the final three weeks of the season. Additionally, there will have been 12 games on the RSN package through week 11. That leaves 5 games from that package.

http://mattsarzsports.com/Contract/GameL...bdW5OhKiUk

There are five conference controlled football games on the Saturdays of weeks 12, 13, and 14.

Matt Sarzyniak tweeted a couple of days ago that weeks 12 and 13 would have RSN doubleheaders. So, we know that weeks 12 and 13 will have two RSN windows and week 14 will have one RSN window.

We also know that the Saturday of weeks 12 and 13 feature conference basketball games at Noon and 2:00 PM and the only basketball game on the Saturday of week 14 is not controlled by the conference and going to be on NBCSN. So, no ACCN basketball games on the Saturday of week 14.

What I'm curious about is how the five ACCN football games are going to be split across the final three weeks of the season.

If you look at the upcoming schedules for weeks 12 and 13, it is showing football games at 4:00 PM and 7:30 PM. I have no reason to doubt that, but I find it strange that week 14 would only have 1 football game and no basketball games. So, I'm just curious if that is indeed going to be the case, or will there actually only be 1 football game on weeks 12 and/or 13 and more football games on week 14. Or, is the original total of 40 football games not accurate and there is actually going to be a total of 41 or 42 games?

So, saw this article on Tigernet. Article says the ACCN is in over 40 million households and that subscriptions outpace what the SEC saw the same time span of network's go live date. This is without Comcast and seems like prior to the AT&T Uverse, Directv Now deal.

Yes, distribution has exceeded expectations... now, if the subscription rate is as good as the rumors ($1.00/month in-footprint), the ACC will be in pretty good shape.

IF.

That is a great find. Thanks for posting. Its the first time we heard from any ACC official about the success of the network and that was a month and a half ago. Those folks who predicted the ACCN to be a failure are not going to like hearing this. Cant wait to get the $$ figures for those who think the ACCN cant possibly meet the SECN and BIG10N initial numbers:

Coburn said that the ACC Network is in over 40 million households -- well over the launch numbers for the SEC Network and other conference networks -- and that new deals with AT&T U-Verse and DIRECTV seem imminent.

"By every measure that (the ACC and ESPN) had in place, we're past where they thought we'd be at this time in terms of subscriptions," Dennard said.

"I know a lot of the focus is on what carrier isn't signed up yet, but there are a lot of successes to celebrate, specifically the number of households we're in a month in from the launch date. It blew everything out of the water in terms of expectations.

"That is a big win for Florida State and for the conference. It's huge."

RE: ACC Network
It’s interesting to me that Disney and Comcast are observing radio silence at the moment. On this coming Tuesday and Wednesday, Louisville, Miami, Ga Tech, NCSU, Notre Dame, UNC, U Va and Syracuse will open their seasons with conference basketball games on ACCN. Next Saturday, Notre Dame will be playing its first football game on ACCN. These are the sort of games that might propel ACC fans who currently have Comcast to switch carriers. It’s the most urgent time for these negotiations since the beginning of football season.

If the talks had broken down, you’d expect that the ACC and Disney would be encouraging Comcast customers to change carriers but they’re not doing that, at all. On the other hand, if a deal was within sight, you’d expect Comcast to be signaling that fact to their customers in order to head off defections but they’re not doing that, at all.

My surmise is that there are serious negotiations going on between Disney and Comcast with the outcome in doubt. My guess is that we’ll know something by Monday.

If Comcast is still playing hardball, I really don't see the benefit. Either paying the ask now or 2 years later, you still will eventually pay. Two years later may mean a huge loss of customers and a fight over ACCN carriage but Disney, ESPN and SECN. The Mouse and ACC are sitting pretty regardless.

I missed this one. Dan Bonner will be doing ACCN BB broadcasts.

Unfortunately, there’s no sign Mike Gminski will also be doing ACCN broadcasts.

I think Comcast is feeling some heat from the Irish. I'm out of the ACC footprint by a considerable margin at the moment, and Xfinity is airing commercials in prime time on ESPN saying you get every single (home) Notre Dame game on Xfinity through NBC. Why do you air that commercial to pimp NBC for any other reason?
