However, probably more just a MAC thing. The MAC in general is next to the bottom for exposure outdone by probably only Sunbelt in insignificance on a year in year out basis. There are probably years where we are the bottom. I am getting really exhausted trying to stick up for it as a conference. It’s time to sit back and just accept it for what it is and try to enjoy it. It’s the minor leagues of college football and everybody wants to be in the majors....I would too.

I’m not saying this loss doesn’t hurt... and I’m curious but guys like Corey Crooms and Dashon Bussell make this loss not as big as everyone thinks.

Those two are complete unknowns at this point. For all we know....god we can’t even have nice things anymore!

Also, considering the fact the he just put a tweet out that says, “Recruiting is now open” doesn’t sound like this is a family issue or something that would make us feel better.
He wants a better pasture.

You obviously haven’t seen spring tape. These guys can ball.

It’s very possible that he doesn’t like the academic side of being a college athlete... might think it’s easier under different coaching staffs... who knows.

I’m encouraged by what I’ve seen by the new guys too but this a tough loss and a big blow. No two ways about it. Dude was a star in the making.

Chase was just in a pre summer video stating how excited he was to get started preparing for this next season. It would def be strange to see two high profile players leave together...

Well no big deal there either. Because as our mediocre record the past couple of years shows, we are clearly loaded with talent to replace anyone that leaves.

Reed is a tough loss... but let’s not act like this is new. Every staff here and across the country deals with this every year. We just have limited talent the likes of Reed.

However we’ve lost similar talents earlier and often over the last 5 years ... whether it’s grades or greener pastures... or just dumb ass behavior...

We move on. Is what it is!

And Reed was just welcoming new commits to the basketball team 10 days ago. Doesn’t matter, it’s an act until they can get assurance of a greener pasture.

I get what you are trying to say here Flush and your unflappable support for the program is noted over all these years, but this one stings. The timing and what he will become....it’s brutal.

Second best running back behind Bellamy?

RE: Reed transferring
Here is Andy Pepper’s quote off Twitter:

I spoke with Tim Lester about the Jayden Reed transfer. Lester told me Reed "loved it here", but that "he wants a different opportunity that he thinks he will find". Other WMU sources believe Reed wants to play at a Power-5, and that this was not a knock on Lester or the program

Yep. I think so. In fact, I think talent wise, he has the size/speed combo to play on the P5 level easily. He would have been one of the greats at WMU in my opinion.

I’m trying to stay positive... but it’s getting to be a difficult proposition...

Well, if you redshirt them their freshmen year, they graduate in 4 years and then transfer as a 5th year grad transfer. [/i]
