RE: Realignment Mock Draft Results
Seems like a fun concept, but this is way too disjointed. No offense...

I'd start by creating separate drafts for each grouping. Power 5, Group of 5, and FCS.

Either that or all GMs should be picking from the same pool. Otherwise, I don't see a reason why everyone should be in the same draft.

Also, part of the issue with a draft that has a lot of members is you have to wait a significant amount of time until your turn comes up so it drags everything out. That and it appears participants are interpreting the rules differently so all of that has to be cleared up before the actual draft starts or it creates confusion.

I would also add this. If players can trade draft picks then that's fine, but make the rule that all trades of this nature must be made before the draft begins. Set a specific date for the draft and require that all those deals be in place so that if for no other reason, each GM will know what the draft order is and can fine tune their strategy accordingly. After the draft begins then the only trades that can be made should be direct school for school deals...allowing for 2 for 1 or 2 for 3 deals...that sort of thing.

If the goal is to get every conference to have the same number of schools at the conclusion of the draft then I would say a player pool(pool of schools) be made available at the end of the draft. If anyone is under 12 schools then a waiver order is established based on the reverse order of the 1st round. At that point, each GM under 12 gets to pick from the available pool until their allotment is full.

We've got a long Summer ahead of us so I think we've got plenty of time to orchestrate it.

I'll update things this evening -- but anticipate a slowed down pace. We're still currently awaiting a result on the AAC draft proposal ... I'm inclined to decline it as co-operation between the Big12 and AAC to redirect assets.

If AllTideUp doesn't want the SEC and there are no SEC fan alternates I'll run them.

I'm fine adding in the Southland if the Big South and Patriot commissioners are also fine with it.

Current pick is still Big South / AAC (but Temple counts, it's the AAC's pick in the 2nd round now) / Big 12

The Big South votes no on the Big 12/AAC trade as currently constructed and yes on allowing the Southland to enter.

Also, we announced our second pick this morning as Delaware, unless it's our turn again.

Maybe if Oklahoma had a max contract they wanted to unload so they could make a run at Kevin Durant in the summer.

RE: Realignment Mock Draft Results
It's a resounding no from the big ten regarding the Big 12 trade.

What we have here is 3 different drafts--P5, G5, and FCS. There shouldn't be movement between the 3 levels.

Also, can we all just commit to being online at 8:30 pm eastern and knocking some picks out? This is dragging out.

No. I can't be on here at 8:30. I have other obligations in the real world.

Also, in the real world there is movement between the two levels of college football (FBS & FCS). Opposition to the trade should not be based on the fact that P5's and G5's are swapping picks or programs, but the extreme inequity between the programs being exchanged.

The hold up is partially on me, I had to pick up other irons in the fire before they melted. I'll update it all over this weekend, but as I said the pace will be relaxed now.

RE: Realignment Mock Draft Results
The draftees seem to be resoundingly against the ludicrous AAC/Big 12 trade. Make the dude pick a P5 school or he forfeits the pick. This is dragging out way too long.

We need to treat this like 3 drafts. P5, G5, and FCS. There shouldn't be any trades or interaction between the 3 because there's no way the AAC core would ever be able to snag OU and Kansas. It's farcical to call what he is creating--a Big 12 that trades away its 3 biggest brands, the Big 12.

Not sure we have anybody for the AAC. I read HuskeyU is banned from this forum, and he have me on ignore. I do not know anything about a trade with Big 12 or anything of that nature. So, I decline to be part of the AAC leadership role since I am completely in the dark on anything.
