Agree 100%. We need a small forward a legit potential all star small forward. We can get a serviceable pg anytime

Grizz front office better not overthink this. Ja is a franchise player- watch Murray state’s first round ncaa game this year.

Yes take Morant, deal Conley for another pick and possibly a player with it. We gave to put other play makers around JJJ if we want him to stay after his rookie contract is up

All speculation is interesting in hindsight but no way do you turn down a 20ppg 10apg pg with Conley aging and on the market,

At least not imo.

We can get a couple ballers and a first round pick next year for Mike Conley.

Who knows maybe we land James Wiseman?

Wouldn't that be a storyline?

Memphis could be the next Cleveland. Wiseman becomes our LeBron James.

We are going to have some cap space too

This was a great night for Grizz fans regardless. Barrett or Morant we can't lose but I think Morant is the guy.

No slight to him, but he's shown to be a little fragile and has 2 more years and like 67 million left on his contract. I'm betting there aren't a ton of teams wanting to take on that type of salary with the perceived injury risk associated for a guy like Conley. It's hard for me to see the Griz getting a great haul for him. I certainly I do hope that I'm wrong.

Conley just had one of the best seasons of his career and stayed fairly healthy all season, some team in need of a veteran pg wil give up a pick for him

Fair enough. If that's is the case with the pick, then we are going to also get some really awful contracts back in the deal as well. At least Wallace isn't there to do anything stupid, and hopefully we will be much more savvy in our deal making going forward. JMO and again no slight on anyone.

I'm pretty sure Boston will accept the number two this year if we still want to convey it.

Ok 1016, you can't watch the next time the Grizz are in the lottery either. Cause tonight worked.

RE: NBA Draft Lottery
And for all of you who think that the small market Grizz can just easily trade for a good PG or land one in FA while you get Barrett is fooling yourselves. The grizzlies have tried for years to get an adequate PG to either backup or eventually take over Conley and have failed. They don’t come often and to pass up an explosive floor general in Morant is foolish

It’s morant and it’s not even close.

Give me the guy who started as an unranked player who clawed his way and worked his ass off to be on this stage over the underachieving blue devil.

Morant will fit in Memphis great.

Grizz can't screw this one up. This is like a more efficient Westbrook vs Andrew Wiggins. No brainer

No you can't. You don't pass up on a guy like Morant period.

RJ's shot isn't good. His ft% isn't good. Every time I watched him play last year I came away unimpressed. I mean there is potential there for sure.

Ja is an athletic/explosive point guard who's shot improved greatly from his freshman year to last year. You absolutely 100% do not pass that up. The Grizz need the heir to Conley and now they have a chance to get that player.

Your literally talking about passing up a potential Westbrook type player for a wing who can't shoot the 3.

Dean Demakis is a good draft guru who puts out a lot of good draft content. We are so lucky to have jumped to #2. This is a terrible draft after #3.

It would have been so depressing trying to convince ourselves for the next month that the guy we would draft at #8 was any good.

To have Jaren drop to us at #4 in a great draft, and then jump to #2 in a bad draft is just very fortunate.
