Program Discipline
Coach Creighton and his crew are setting expectations high...both on and off the field. For this past semester, the Football Team set an all-time high team cumulative GPA of 3.04. Now this tidbit about 31 players who are excelling across the board: https://t.co/9arEdGP7Fu

This kind of personal achievement is bound to transition to the field on gameday. Proud of all these guys!

Go Eagles!

RE: Program Discipline
I have noticed that both Max and Brogan had endured team discipline at some point in their careers here, and assumed/hoped it was because the standards were intentionally high and part of a larger culture of accountability.

Orrrrr who knows, maybe they were doing the same stupid stuff I did when I roamed West Cross.

Either way, that GPA is outstanding!

Both commendable and not surprising.

CC had been on campus a couple weeks and a player's parent told me what the players were told to expect.

Without getting into details CC instituted a 3-strike rule with penalty for strike 1, and greater penalty for strike 2 and strike 3, 'you are out.'

Let's face it the MAC is often a destination for talented but less than exemplary citizens like Ray Lee, Antonio Brown and Kareem Hunt. Unlike a Coach K at Duke, they often are forced to ignore checkered pasts when recruiting athletes. Creighton, however, seems to have a handle on player behavior once they join the program. I would love to see both Kilby and Aristilde catching passes at Rynearson but apparently the coach felt their behavior no longer merited the ability to do so. I think gambling on questionable prospects is wise but I like the fact that we have a coach who has such high standards once they arrive.

To be honest I doubt that JT4's on court behavior and penchant for technical fouls would have been tolerated had Creighton been the basketball coach. He would have either transferred out or cleaned up his act, reached his full potential, and I would have been fine with that.

Matt Thornton was a starting offensive lineman who started many games. His senior year he played one game disappeared off the roster and was not honored or mentioned for senior day. I don't know what he did but it must not have been good. I am glad Coach runs a tough ship but it works. Guys like Glenn Bryant Ray Lee or Thompson would never been recruited by Creighton's nor would he have put up with their behavior.

Strike 1 = one game suspension.

Strike 2 = Season...

Strike 3 = guess...

These penalties pertain to particular offenses and are not a general rule.

James you are most likely 100% spot on as usual.

I, however, have no problem with recruiting a player who may have had an issue in the past. After all college is an educational institution and has a purpose to provide corrective action to misbehavior in the minor age past. Creighton, however, seems to have a defined standard of comportment and will not waiver from it. Too often a Mid-Major coach recruits a bunch of outlaws with tremendous ability, lets them run wild and simply hopes he can achieve enough success to get a Power 5 contract while leaving his current program in shambles.

If I had the money I would sign Creighton to a contract that would ensure he stayed in Ypsilanti until retirement.
