As a program more likely to be jettisoned than promoted I think you'll find little interest here

As I think GT has shown (IIRC there's more than a few Rice-GT analogies and dual fans here) ... it starts with the right AD willing to install the right culture. We found our Stansbury. Rice needs to look hard to find their own.

GT had a pretty good run with former Rice AD Homer Rice a few years back. I actually thought Homer was a lot better AD than football coach. Unfortunately he wanted to be football coach.

You way undersold that. Homer Rice is directly responsible for all GT athletic success since joining the ACC. He hired the coaching staff that won the 1990 NC. He hired Cremins. He hired the golf coach that is still competing in the Top 5 year in and year out today. He hired the baseball coach that is still there today (and I'd add they're ranked #6 this week and haven't lost a series in 2 months). After he left the parade of morons at AD that followed (Braine the brain less, Radakovich the debt lover, Bobinski the flat out incompetent) and the coaches they hired were all almost universally bad. The sole exception was Paul Johnson. For awhile.

Okay, I think Radakovich hired the women's tennis coach who won the NC. That's it. That's the lone non-Homer Rice success story since 1980. Technically with Todd Stansbury it's back to being a Homer Rice story since he cut his teeth in athletic departments at GT under Rice and was a football letterwinner under Bill Curry (hired by Rice as well).
