If I were you guys I think I'd protect UAB, ODU, Charlotte, and USM ... go for a sort of "Metro South" concept for maximum ROI on TV markets.

Three of those teams have no percentage of their TV market. You can figure out which one does. Any GM that mentions TV market for a G5 pickup gets an automatic vote of no confidence and is removed from the forums with a permanent ban.

In lurking over on the realignment board, the Pac 12 didn't protect Stanford (but they protected California instead WTF?). And the SEC didn't protect LSU, but do we really want LSU? It's time Conference USA truly represented all of the USA geographically - snap up Stanford!

odu09's thoughts on nominating CLT all depends on how many clterns CLT plans on using for this

So I see Side Show Joe is the MWC GM. So if clt protects NT he loses that job?

mturn promotes a strategy of maximum chaos.

RE: The Realignment Mock Draft
So clt protected Charlotte, ODU, Marshall, MT & FAU

Not what I'd have picked but it's a meaningless game anyway. Kinda surprised clt is eager to have to clean beer cans out of his drainage ditch every other year but maybe he was concerned his lawn guy would over prune his crepe myrtles this year if it got back to him that he didn't pick Marshall.

So what's your strategy going forward clt? First pick gonna be from within current affiliation or are you going outside of conference? I assume you're going to abandon the West but will you go as far as USM? LT?

Good pics CLT. I could see building a strong South Atlantic conference out of those pics, some good teams will get freed up. I like it.

Personally I'd have left off Charlotte and FAU in favor of UAB & WKU, maybe USM. Charlotte can be picked up in later rounds and I'd consider either abandoning FLorida altogether or seeing if USF or UCF is in play.

Depends on where chips fall. WKU and Marshall are similar programs. So I knew one would get left off.

CLT went with a south atlantic market strategy. Will be interesting to see who he targets.

This is where I’m confused, so I have a question. So are all the remaining P5 schools who weren’t kept available? Like we could end up with three WVU or Iowa State types?

SB will protect the teams you want for that and it's not like we can reach up and grab NC State the way I read the rules. I would project that CUSA and SB will still be fishing in the same pond and will both stretch from the Atlantic to Texas at the end with minor reshuffling.

No

- Conferences can pick a "free agent" team of peer status or lower (P5 -> G5 -> FCS). This means the SoCon can't pick Coastal Carolina and the Sun Belt can't pick Alabama and so on.

There's nothing to stop you from trading late and there is no limit to compensatory draft picks. It is possible for the G5 to have current P5 members under the rules. It just requires a clever GM and some hand shakes.

You are 3 for 4.....

None of the 4 gets over 2-4 percent of their market. The SEC, and ACC locks up 95% in all 4 and if the "state school" is playing...99%

Markets<winning in the G5 for any conference made up of schools in the middle of the SEC, ACC, B10
