Looks about right to me...
I would have bg last in the east, new coach and losing their QB will not help their cause... A total rebuild...

RE: 2019 MAC FB predictions
MAC West
Toledo and NIU seem like top 2 but Toledo lost a lot of playmakers and NIU is changing coaching staffs.
EMU and WMU should be competitive but neither is loaded w players and Western hasn't had a winner under Lester yet.
Ball St is prob a little underrated as they have a decent staff and some program continuity. Might sneak up on people a little.
CMU is changing staffs but has enough talent to surprise a bit.
MAC East
Ohio is the safe bet, but will probably find a way to finish 2nd
Buffalo lost key guys and we get to find out if they have enough of a program to reload.
Miami has had some good recruiting classes but hasn't won for a while.
Kent is probably the sleeper as they were better than expected last year and are now in the 2nd yr of that staff and a lot deeper. will play some people closer than expected. can they learn to be winners?
Akron and BG limited rosters and new coaching staffs.

WMU returns the most production in the nation. I’d say they’re loaded on offense for 2019.

Total toss up in the West. I think EMU has the best staff and bought in team. Maybe not the best proven playmakers but they return a QB and good scheme's. 9 wins will take the West. The East??? Uh... Miami? OU?

Toledo has three of the tougher MAC teams on their schedule at home...
NIU/WMU/EMU along with Brigham Young...

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the Broncos put in another stellar 6-6 season.
And that assumes more key players don't jump ship and land on the transfer portal with P5 stars in their eyes.

Don't worry, fthechips assures us you have the most returning offensive production in the country

Has there ever been a year like this where players are planning on transferring a month after spring ball and after their spring semester??? Are the new trends seeping into the MAC?

I mean that wasn’t an opinion, that was a fact. Now that we lost Jayden reed, I’m predicting 6-7 wins for WMU.

And Watson. I know his production fell off a bit in 2018, but I think his departure is more damaging than people realize.
So suddenly our WR corps has become more of an Unknown, we lose depth at RB with Brown transferring, and our starting QB is coming back from (another) season ending injury.
Sure, we return almost all of our defense "production," but we'll need to be 10x better to even be up to MAC level competitiveness.
I know I'm probably a bit jaded with how 2018 ended, going 1-4 with three of those losses being blowouts. But I just can't dig up much optimism at this point.

I’m going to predict 6 wins again. Losses to Cuse, MSU, UT, NIU, Ohio, and EMU.

Yeah..... that’s opinion.
WMU isn’t jumping 35 teams in offensive production including the two teams that played for the NC. Sorry Clemson, Alabama > WMU and it’s not even close, even if those guys stayed.

You guys are talking about different metrics. Fthechips is referring to % of experience ("production") returning. Not raw numbers (YPG).
Here is the article in question, where WMU is ranked 1st in returning production:
https://www.sbnation.com/college-footbal...experience
Kent State is #8.
Obviously based on someone's own formula, so it's subjective within itself. But his post is based on a published ranking (and it's by total, not just offense). Having said that, returning the most 'experience' from a 7-6 team that stumbled badly down the stretch doesn't automatically result in a golden ticket to the MACC.

Yea I mean I never said we're gonna have the best offense in the country. I just said we have the most returning production in the country. Which will hopefully mean we have a decent squad in 2019.

Analyzing things is my day job, I don't support Kent State as an excuse to have something to analyze ... I just cheer for them to win game.
BUT, any slender reed of hope to cling to is better than none. If a more experience Kent offense can upgrade its performance enough to have a 5-3 MAC record and on the back of also beating Kennesaw State can go bowling on a 6-6 record ... lord, in a year that we play Arizona State, Auburn and Whiskey, I'd take it.
Happily, the Wagon Wheel is played in October, even if it is played in our alternate home stadium (on East Exchange Street in the downtown of our metro area) rather than our main home stadium on Summit Road.

Don't get the "alternate home stadium" reference. Please explain.

Kent State always seems like the defense is good enough but just need the QB. It wasn't all that long ago they were in the MACC.

The Chippewas are poised to go from worst to first in the West.
The O-line is rebuilt under coach Cummings and Tennessee grad transfer QB Quinten Dormady will be under center.
Coach Mac has the team's attention.
FIRE UP CHIPS! :)
