Fully understand. I'll keep up with you on Twitter. So frustrated lately... Cronin made his choice, he's gone. He wasn't forced out. I don't know why we all can't support a coach who has no connection to the people who were controversial.

CliftonAve is a great poster, but like rath v2.0, I'm not sure I understand the need to make an announcement in a thread that you're leaving the board. I can identify with frustration over certain posters or with negativism in general but I have to remind myself from time to time that this is a sports message board with a wide array of opinions ranging from spot on to meh to bat shat crazy. That's how this thing rolls. No one is forced to come on this site or to read every thread or every post. The "ignore" option is a great feature that I'm sure was created with ample justification. I also trust our Mods to monitor the site and there's a good reason we have to have moderation on here. I've taken extended breaks from several boards [this one included] and I haven't been back to the Spin Room yet. Of course, you have a guy like BC#1 who takes "forced" extended leaves of absence LOL. That aside, I hope we keep our good posters around on this board for the long haul and that CliftonAve will return come football season [or before].

Well said.....but I do understand the need for a swan song after many years putting your UC heart into this board. Clifton and Rath among others brought real intel from inside UC athletic programs and the University as a whole.

Now its mostly a crap show of "I know it to be true cause I ref'd an 8th grade game once." lol

When I finally decide to stop having fun with Banter which will delight many, no swan song here. Just good memories of Sub, Rath, BJ, BearcatJim, Eastside, Clifton, Jackie, Crewdogz, and of course Dizzy. Plus I can't forget little BearcatMark who sat behind me when he was about 12 years old.

Your first two points are why we need reasonable posters to help balance out the board more. I for one am glad you still post on here Rag. I have come to know and appreciate why you feel the way you do on certain topics, and as I remind folks on here, you keep spending your hard earned dollars on UC sports. That's more than a lot of folks do. Plus, you're getting to be one of the old timers on here. Just don't turn into the angry old neighbor when the ball rolls into your yard.

Hope to see you back. Clifton is one of the best posters on this board. But understand your feeling.

I don't understand how people could think that this board is toxic right now. There's a reasonable case to be made that things are looking bad for the program in the near term and that the long-term prospects are at best a mystery. Yet very few posters are critical. And this is after years of negativity defining this place. Very odd.

Duh. Coach/team choked during a marquee game against a big-name but inferior team. Kind of a microcosm of the entire Cronin Era. Were people just supposed to watch and not say anything?

No, they were supposed to watch and then bend over and say "Thank you coach, can I have another?" When they didn't and the AD held the coach accountable, many on here had their world shattered and still can't come to terms...

You're just going to keep banging this drum..that UC is a mid-major...that the only coach that warranted appointment as MBB HC was Cronin.

What are you hoping? That Cronin comes back? He left voluntarily, unlike Huggins. You could therefore consider him a traitor to the program. You want to cleave to a traitor? Have at it. You won't get a lot of sympathy around here.

I'm not certain what your agenda is exactly...to show that transitions are difficult? I think everyone here already knows that. To make us beg to have Cronin back? What exactly would that accomplish other than an ego massage?

I think you are simply a misanthrope with nothing better to do than constantly troll this board. If you are a relative of Cronin, all you are accomplishing is establishing that the Cronin family is bitter that he wasn't offered a raise despite mediocre performance. It doesn't make you look good. You should put your energy into supporting Cronin in his new gig--go follow UCLA since you believe he'll be such a sterling success in the PAC 12. Let Cronin's performance there be the measure of who was correct in this instance instead of belittling a fanbase that, by and large, wanted to try something different.

A constant, steady stream of "I told you so" isn't going to change anything and it won't win any converts. The deal is done, Mick is gone--time to look to the future.

If you want to point to a villain in any of this you might want to look at the distribution of funds in the AD. The people who determine that are at the top of the command structure. They don't post on this board.

Go cry to them.
