Way overdue. Wish they would widen the free throw lane too. NCAA always lags in hoops with the rule changes.

Most of the trey shooters shoot further than that anyway. Pushing the trey further out makes more room for the inside game, by pulling the defender out a little more.

They implemented the change in the NIT this past tournament to see how it would change the game. They also widened the lane.

I think the change needs to be made. But give players and coaches a year or 2, why after all these years they have to change it in 6 months?

I agree on the 4 quarters and making it harder to foul ot.

I understand why some of you are saying that this change is overdue.

but, imho, there are too many missed 3 pt shots in the ncaa game today.
I am not so sure about making the shot longer.

Yeah, that would make the 5 foul thing better than it was in the NIT. Would changing to quarters mess up the media timeouts? There are 5 media timeouts every 4 minutes. If they went to 10 minute quarters then the would have to would have to go to 6 minute and 2 minute media timeouts plus the end of the quarter.

I believe the intent is to better open the lane and spur more offense. It is good news for the Tigers.

It is my understanding a shorter shot clock and wider FT lane maybe next on the list.
