No, it’s not final. That is just the Rules Committee recommendation. Final decision in June.

I expect it will be approved though. I would love to see them play with the FIBA basketball too.

College basketball is far more popular than pro ball. So why keep changing the college game to be more like the pro game?

Talent is far more diluted in the college game compared to the pro game. So all these changes are doing is widening the gap between the haves and have nots.

When a mid-major with fundamentally strong players is able to beat the big boys with 3 point shooting they just make it harder for the mid-major to hit those shots so the big boys with the athletes are safe from upsets.

Average rating NBA finals are in the mid 11s.
Average rating for NCAA college title games are in the 20s.

TV viewership almost DOUBLE for NCAA title than NBA title.

And regular season NBA ratings are in the 2s. 2016-17 the average regular season game did not even make it into the 2s. Regular season games on NBATV network are not even breaking into whole numbers.

According to Sports Media Watch.

This year's title game did a 12.4, and there are multiple NBA Finals games, but even with a sweep last year in the fourth straight Warriors v. Cavs series, the NBA averaged 10.

If there was only one NBA Finals game, there's no way it wouldn't rate higher than that.

According to Sports Media Watch.

As usual Nascar guy has no idea what he is talking about.

Far from averaging a 20, the NCAA title game hasn't even notched a 20 for a quarter of a century. Here is the link to Sports Media Watch, which of course Nascar guy wouldn't provide. https://www.sportsmediawatch.com/ncaa-fi...s-tbs-nbc/

Last year's Villanova-Michigan only got a 9.2. This year's Virginia-Texas Tech got a 12.4.

Biggest point is the NBA Finals are a best of 7 series. Can't analyze a series like you do a single title game, when you know the date and time of the championship game years in advance. And these numbers are U.S. only, the NBA gets big ratings around the world, especially Europe and Asia, which the NCAA and the NFL don't get.
