Just great now we shoot 18% from there now, in all seriousness I like the move.

This could be huge for UAB as our 3 pt defense is usually lacking, making them shoot from farther way can only help

The NCAA really likes to feel like they are accomplishing something with rule changes every year.

Most of the time they are just tooting their own whistle.

There is a lot of room in the middle of the court to move the line farther back but not so much in the baseline area. Will the new rule push teams to try to shoot more from that area?

Since they are changing the shot clock rules, perhaps they should eliminate the half court 10 second line too and just play full court basketball.

I don’t think it benefits us, considering we can’t shoot and we already give up a dozen 3s from much further. However, most will go overseas to play pro basketball. This makes sense to have the upperclassmen that are getting passed on in the draft, to be ready for fiba or euro basketball.

Yep. Less chance of a Belmont, Wofford, etc. beating you if you move the 3 pt shot line back.

Overall, I doubt 3P% dips that much, but extending the three point line will further extend defenses, so the lane should open up more for guys like Bryant.

Defensively, our rotations will need to be better, or we may give up more open threes than before.

Won't really affect guys like Scootie whose release point is so low they had to shoot from that far back last year anyway...

The way we defend against the three I was hoping they would move the line to the parking lot. 03-banghead
