(05-10-2019 02:16 PM)Redwingtom Wrote:  Why when Obama was president did a couple posters post the shooting statistics in Chicago nearly every week?

Because Obama was from Chicago.. his right hand man was mayor... and gun control was a major push of the administration. If he and his plans aren't addressing it in Chicago, why would we think they'd work anywhere else?

Quote:Why does every story about a home invader with a gun stopping an intruder warrant a thread?
Because gun control is a major issue and some people don't think people should have guns

Quote:Why does every story about an illegal immigrant committing a crime warrant a thread?
Because when Trump said that some of these people are bad people, he and everyone who voted for him were called racists, plus... illegal immigration is a major issue

Quote:The guy is a vocal trump supporter and has been the subject of other threads here. He comes up when fox shows get the boycott treatment, he's also one of the forces behind the latest abortion movie. I thought that made it somewhat relevant.
I don't remember any threads about him and I'm on here a lot, but I obviously don't read them all. Had no idea he was behind the movie and have never seen him on Fox, but HAVE seen the ads.

What I'm wondering is why that would make it relevant though? Even from your own quote, he's laying off a relatively small number of his people and starting a new venture... Unless you're saying that his being a vocal Trump supporter and advertiser on fox is why he's laying off people, then what is the point? And if yo're saying that, then you're essentially saying 'orange man bad'.

Out of the things you mentioned, all of those you're upset about are policy issues, and you're responding with something completely unrelated to policy. I understand you may disagree with those policies, but they ARE policies.

Do you not even see that yourself?

My suspicion is the RWT wants to link this layoff to the success of the boycott, which is not the cause. He is restructuring his business, but his charity remains. He's currently giving his pillows to homeless shelters and other such organizations and has recently sponsored a program related to breaking drug addiction where he's giving a rather large amount for each entering the program, but my details on this one are sketchy since he just announced it within the last few days and I heard the tail end of his interview.

It isn't Orange Man bad as much as it is besmirch or cast aspersions upon those on the right doing good things for humanity.

And you'd be wrong. And to be truthful, I have not even heard of MyPillow being boycotted over the movie. My comment was about him being a fox advertiser when their programs were the subject of advertiser boycotts. And I'm not even saying those boycotts had anything to do with this.

I chalk it up more to just business.

P.S.: Your last sentence is just plain ridiculous.

I'd be wrong how? You said in the underlined portion that your comment was about him being a FOX advertiser with their programs being the subject of advertiser boycotts. It seems to me I was right, and that by you not knowing the portion in blue that MyPillow was being being boycotted for its support of a Pro-life movie just was a reflection of your ignorance on the topic, the emphasis of which was a boycott anyway.

Surely you are intelligent enough to see the ambiguity in your remarks and MyPillow or its founder in either case is the target of your remarks so my last statement is hardly ridiculous either. Rather it was rather insightful in ferreting out your motives.

You've just convicted yourself on this matter.

RWT: If Iran attacks American interest... that would hurt Trump's foreign policy... will u cheer that?

He’s a recovering alcoholic and coke head (I think that’s what it was) and when he turned his life around he started My pillow by going to conferences and vendor shows, selling them onesie-twosie to attendees, indy hotel/motel owners, then it boomed into what it is today. He’s made a mint.

If I had to guess, he’s going to move on to doing his ministry more full-time or branching out to other pursuits, whatever his new calling may be.

That and I’d guess you can reach a level of diminishing returns on something with a ten year warranty and most people have pillows.

Who really knows, likely only My pillow guy himself. Doubt it has much to do with politics or who the current occupant of the WH is.

Well, he got three off me. I love those damn pillows.

Me too. I can't sleep without it.

Yea, I’m in for two. Best pillows I’ve ever had, and I’ve had aplenty.

I'd bet that the reason has something to do with the product not selling as it once did.

I stated I was aware of him being the subject of advertiser boycotts over his advertising on Fox shows. I had not heard of him being the subject of a boycott over the movie. I explained that pretty clearly. I'm sorry you cannot understand that.
