He's going to announce from home on May 31. Until then...no.

He’s coming to UAB!

Has it been confirmed? Haven’t seen anything on social media yet. He said he would go live

I watched it on Facebook live. He said we were his first offer and we were consistent in recruiting him the whole time. He said when he got injured a lot of schools backed on of him...and then he wanted to give some more details about that, and said, “This is about to get real,” and turned the camera off. And that was it.

I still haven’t seen anything on Twitter, except that he said about 4:25 it was commitment day. You can look him up on Facebook and see the video. He was live for about 15 minutes but didn’t actually make any announcement until about the 12 minute mark.

He said he only made three visits, to Illinois, Fresno and UAB.

Grossman is here.

When did he get here?

He is a tremendous signee. Very excited to see him take the field in green and gold. Welcome, young man!

Pretty sure he'll be a summer or fall signee(grayshirt, blueshirt, or whatever). Based on his tweets he's still solidly UAB...

Heck of a late addition to the roster. Top ranked player in the recruiting class according to 247sports. Even better that he has 3 years of eligibility.

Whats the story with Jordan Smith? Is there concern about whether he will make it to campus?

Yes. Him on one side and Watkins on the other and TJ3 throwing downfield. Good luck defending both sides.

If we field an agile tight end with hands and our slots are reliable, then... again good luck again defending that field. We might run the ball a bit also.

So it appears that our offensive line will determine if this is the best offense UAB has ever put on the field. The other pieces are all there.

I don’t know if he is enrolled in school but he has been around the team. He was in Birmingham for Memorial Day.

I have been trying to keep an eye out because I’m beyond excited to see what he can do this season. 6’7” 245. 68 tackles and 11 sacks in 12 games this past season in JUCO. Unreal potential.

I think Smith might be the key to our defense this year. Not sure anyone on our current roster comes close to his physical attributes.

Yep.

We have some talented DEs but we just need to get them on campus.

Jordan Smith. Already mentioned.

Alex Wright 6’4” 225 w/ P5 offers (17 offers total). I have seen him listed as tall as 6’6”. Should have arrived on campus this week as well. I’m curious to see if he gets immediate playing time. Article here states he had 63 tackles (17 TFL) and 6 sacks despite being double and triple teamed. Also caught 15 passes for 266 yards and 3 TDs. 3.2 GPA

Kelle Sanders 6’6” 260. No idea when he is set to arrive.

Still interested to see what Former Huffman DL Allen Love is gonna do, he’s given no hint to what he’s gonna do. He’d be eligible immediately. Keith Mixon is still out there, too.

I say Love should be eligible immediately, but saw somebody claim he’s had to ask for a waiver to do so. Only played 4 games from what i could tell. His HS teammate is at moo u. Probably the school to beat.

RE: #1 JUCO Receiver currently on visit to UAB
Every year, some of UABs best defensive signees have been these late additions. Garcia Williams. Tre Crawford. Amazing what this staff has done to elevate recruiting.

A Four star receiver with three years to play is the best yet, at least with respect to rankings. Watching his film, he's not just fast and good hands, but agile and strong and hard to tackle.

I can see a day soon, when we sign a half dozen four stars per class, once we add the new stadium to the recruiting visit agenda. A few more trophies in the case will help also. Oh, and the movie.

New Years Bowl on the horizon soon, folks, if we field a quality offensive line. 2020 or 2021 seasons.
