On days that they predict rain we don't get shiate and they still have a job. I wish that I could produce like that and not get fired. They're predicting rain for the next four days but our batting average stinks, I doubt we'll get any noticeable amount. Good thing I don't have real grass anymore, my new grass is ALLLLWWWWAAYYYSS green. 03-wink

Fool me once, shame on you.

Fool me twice, shame on me.

Fool me 93,213 times, you're a weatherman.

For the first time in 15 years the lake that is my back yard overflowed onto the patio and almost into the house, twice so far this year. Yeah, we've had unusually high volumes of rain. Damn that global warming climate change fluctuation anyway.

I go by extreme weather these days. Extreme hot, extreme cold, extreme wet, etc.

4 inches of rain Tuesday evening and then another 4-plus overnight for me. But only 22 inches on the year which isn't too bad - March and April were really dry for parts of Houston.

I'm a bit of a weather nerd. Every Thursday I go to the U.S. Drought Monitor (https://droughtmonitor.unl.edu/) to check out how the country is faring - well it's a non-factor these days after the entire country has averaged 36 inches of rain over the past 12 months (more than 6 inches above normal) and the first time in 120 years of record-keeping that we've passed that 36-inch average.

Except for the Pacific Northwest and large parts of New Mexico and Colorado, almost the entire contiguous United States has been wetter than normal over the last 12 months.

That's not all great news. Obviously, you don't want flooding or drought. We're not worried about drought, but we are experiencing some flooding. Houston is under a flash flood watch until Saturday after parts of the city got 12-15 inches of rain on Tuesday. And widespread parts of the city could get another 4-8 inches over the next 2-plus days.

Houston actually had a pretty dry spring so normally we could handle this much rain (well maybe not 10-plus inches in a day but several days of 3-5 inches would be manageable). The problem though is Central and North Texas has been very wet this spring so the rivers already were beginning to rise before this week's rains made things worse.
I left Alabama in February and it was warm and rainy.. Got to State College, PA, and it was cold and snowy... It snowed throughout March and into a little bit of April.. Then it warmed up and we've had weeks since about mid-April where it'll be misting rain or a steady rain for 2-3 days.. Then a day of sunshine, then back to the misting/steady rain.. This week has been gorgeous.. We had 3 days of sunshine and warmth.. Yesterday rain set in, but not a downpour just the same.. Supposed to clear out today.. But everywhere is green and beautiful.. Even the mountains..

how's that? (as you whiff his implied subliminal)

it's a shame how 'lefty gonzales' are oblivious to sense of humor when coupled with logic....
