UAB should probably be ranked in the bottom half of the conference. They lost everyone.

Rice, UTEP, ODU, Charlotte in the cellar.

WKU and FAU trending up. MTSU and Louisiana Tech trending down.

Right........Charlotte beat WKU like a drum last year and also beat FAU on the road to end the season. Most everyone who has actually looked closely at Charlotte this pre-season expects the team to be even better.......great prediction.

Charlotte was so bad that it lost it's coach. The new guy will have to be great, particularly in the early years. He'll have to prove himself to me before I can predict you guys any higher than 8th in CUSA. I think that's fair

No, we didn't "lose" our coach. We fired him after finishing 5-7 and 4-4 in this league. We were better than 8th last season and will almost certainly be better this year.

It's JMar's senior season! Ya'll got anybody else on that offense? How's that rebuilding DLine? Just beat UNT, again, because we haven't.

The west division is top-heavy with UNT, UAB, USM, and La Tech all winning with some consistency now. Clarke keeps UAB in there. Holtz and La Tech. They both graduated a ton, but I trust their recruiting. I hope Rice and UTEP have found some traction and UTSA stops sliding.

Might as well call UAB...ABCC with as many JUCO's/CC they had last year. It's hard building your team around 14 or so juco/CC, Sr's and expect to reload the next season. Well I guess you can if you load back up on CC's...8 out of 19 recruits in 2018 and 13 out of 22 in the class of 2017

We don't have a QB that is accurate beyong 5 yards, and Doc. Count on us to be 5-3 or 6-2 and watching someone else play for a title for the 9th time in 10 years.

I'm not concerned with our quarterback, I like him. He's willing to take shots downfield. I just don't know who he is going to throw to.

But how will Marshall's defense be? Doc has built that well. A top-tier defense just needs an offense that limits mistakes and then solid special teams. USM won that way for almost 100 years.

Defense have question marks on paper. We lost a lot of talent there. New coaching staff on that side of the ball as well.

Currently Brad Lambert is listed as the volunteer Defensive Assistant, but he has pulled some former Charlotte staff on board. We still haven't hired a LB coach, but some of the holdovers are experienced coaches.

The thing about Doc Holliday that gets unnoticed, however, is he does rotate playing time from year to year. So even being a backup last year gets in some semblance of PT.

We do have a couple pieces to build on (the pass rush transfer from FIU, Jaquan Yulee a former 4 star going into his Soph year, Marquise Couch returns and so on).

We will run a variation of a 3-4 with Nickel primarily being our dominant formation.

Just my take...

Nope, we are a cellar dwellar! We are terrible, no reason to pay attention. Nothing going on here!

Yes, I think most states have Spring football. I'd be curious to hear who doesn't. MS, AL, LA, and FL for certain.

Convinced we have the talent. Also we may have coaches on offense who have a clue, that would certainly help.....
