Wasn't clear to me that he didn't mean home this year; Boone next year. I took it to mean that, altho I don't think he was specific.
I think you are right. He said the Bucs are paying App to come here first. I can't see the importance of that unless we are talking about here one year and there the next.
I'm not sure the Appy basketball rivalry holds the allure it once did. Now, if Forbes could get VT down to Freedom Hall for a two and one, that'd be ideal. I only wish it could be next year while Forbes is still here.
Huh? Appy St has is a renewal of an old rivalry. I wouldn't mind playing VT but there is no history between the programs. Apples and Oranges.
One has nothing to do with the other, would like see both happen but in the long term I would rather establish a series with Appy vs 3 games with VT not that I see us getting VT to come here.

I hope they put this up again. Some really good information involving Ridriguez, Hugley, Armus and Good. There was a great sequence where some one in the audience asked a question about Armus and his concussion during the Wofford game suggesting that there was something fishy going on. I can guess who the questioner was. Forbes got hot. He cursed and told him directly, "Don't ever question me again about a player injury. That's between the trainer and the doctor." Forbes, also, told this same questioner that he had reported that he got a raise after interviewing with New Mexico State, which Forbes called "a lie."
Yes that was Marky. Also known has PittsburgBucs
Fun to watch. Almost as good as the Jim Boeheim "10 f-ing games" scolding of a reporter back in the day.

We've played Va. Tech 18 times (at least), going 3-15, and most recently in 2012. It's certainly by no means remotely a "rivalry", but I'd say 18 match-ups constitutes a "history". But Va. Tech's presence and fan base has grown in this area with their increased visibility and success on the gridiron...........so maybe there'd be more Va. Tech fan interest in a game here than there used to be. Not that that should be a reason to play here. As Forbes said, it's maybe a longshot (paraphrasing). Looked like he'd be on board with a 2-for-1, but wasn't sold on a 3-for-1 (yet). With those 20-game ACC schedules, there's not much room there. I bet it happens - but who knows when.

RE: BREAKING: Rodriguez to return to ETSU IN 19-20
Coach Forbes was on the radio this morning. A lot of what he went over was said yesterday, but there was some new information.
-Coach said that he first talked to Rodriguez about the possibility that he might return last Thursday when he was in D.C. recruiting. Then he mentioned that the recruit that he said was coming in this Friday, who he already had said had "some size," was from D.C. It sounds as if it may be Charlie Weber.
-Forbes pointed out that Rodriguez could have been a grad transfer if he had wanted to. He said, "Can you imagine the number of schools that would have offered him." He said that it showed just how much he enjoyed being here.
-When asked about the Transfer Portal, Coach said that obviously was why they were able to get Hugley to sign. In the past they probably would never have heard that he was wanting to become a transfer. The coaching staff checks the transfer portal every day.
-Forbes said that for the second scholarship they were looking for a "stretch."
-When asked if Rodriguez being back had changed the coaching staff's outlook on recruiting, he said that they were looking for someone to play fronting the basket to allow for better spacing in the offense. He said that last year when Rodriguez and Armus were playing together they weren't able to stretch the defense as they both played with their backs to the basket. He also mentioned the turnovers that Armus had.
-When asked about the home and home schedule with App, Forbes said that he wished he hadn't said anything about it as they are still struggling to put together the full schedule, but there it is. He said that they have been trying since he got here to schedule App, but only with the new coach there were they able to get anything done. When asked why ETSU had to pay for an initial home game, he said that it largely had to do with the Bucs relative success compared to App.
-When asked about whether he was concerned about the probability with Rodriguez's return that the Bucs would be considered a front runner in the SOCON, Forbes said he didn't care. "Let's go," he said. Expectations aside, he said, you still had to win.
-Coach mentioned that Good would be making the trip to Europe this summer although he wouldn't be playing. He is off his crutches but it will probably be late September or early October before he can participate fully in practice.
-The summer trip includes classes and touring as well as practice and games.
