So far from reality. Probably in the top tier with UCF and Houston.

LOL...USF in front of us. UCF, UC and Houston are all right there, but I'd still put UC probably 1 or 2 since we have had more success the last 15 years, but hard to argue how hot UCF has been of late. I'd have Houston behind UC personally.

Those three schools get a bump over us in these "best jobs" polls because they have more fertile recruiting grounds. Our football in Cincinnati and Ohio in general are fantastic, but the city of Houston/Texas and Florida is a lot deeper. The theory is those jobs are better than ours is because of access to talent, not what you have done on the field (although that is a factor).

Cincinnati one of 7 teams that have earned a spot in the P5: https://fbschedules.com/7-college-footba...n-power-5/

Houston, Cincinnati, and UCF are definitely the 3 best jobs in the AAC. Good fan support, newer on-campus facilities, and located in recruiting hot beds. USF does not belong in that group due to sharing an NFL stadium.

Well, we have to share a stadium with a soccer team....

Can't tell if this is sarcasm or if this thread is going off the rails quickly - owning a stadium and being the landlord is a bit different than being a lessee.

Miami shares a stadium with an NFL team and they're P5 while we're stuck in the G5.

Well, consider the source. Athlon Sports. Our 2020 recruiting class doesn't seem to mind we're not a program in Florida and Texas. I would also point to our previous four coaches that would seem to indicate UC is a pretty damn good job to have.

We don't have to do that. We ELECT to lease our stadium to a soccer team. It is still UCs stadium in the heart of our campus.
Not the way it is for Pitt, Miami, Temple, USF, USC, etc.

Yeah, we "elected" to do it after a kindly "request" from a wealth donor, who then went about reconfiguring the stadium and squatting in the athletic facilities. LOL

UC #60 overall, #4 in the AAC behind Houston, UCF and USF.
It says #54 overall now. That's odd that they changed the article. Houston is now #15 overall, and UCF is #100.
#55 is Indiana. #56 is Kentucky.
I think it has us overranked. We're ahead of NC State and South Carolina.
Purdue is listed as 95th, 2nd to last in the P5 (Kansas is last). But the Brohm situation this offseason seems to put Purdue ahead of Louisville.

My OP links an article about the best jobs in CFB. You're referring to the article about the preseason rankings. Having UC at #54 is a freaking joke considering we are 11-2 and bring back 7 starters on both side of the ball.

Where is the link to the best jobs in CFB? The link in the OP is best jobs in the AAC, and the link on that page that says it ranks "based on the attractiveness of the position from a coaching perspective" leads to those preseason rankings instead.

lol USF
Because every coach dreams of coaching a college team named the Bulls in an off campus rented NFL stadium that has a pirate ship. Seems legit...

One of our players must have been offered by a "P"5 so we moved up.

One can make a case for UH and UCF but USF give me a break.
They need to change the name USF Pirates to fit the stadium.

77. Temple
Four different coaches have had winning seasons at Temple this decade, so clearly this job gives you the opportunity to enjoy some success. There is a decent recruiting base (Pennsylvania, New Jersey, the metro D.C. area), but Philadelphia is a professional sports town and Temple struggles for attention — both in the media and with fans.
76. Rutgers
Rutgers has one key ingredient needed to win in a Power 5 conference — a strong recruiting base. But that’s about all the program has going for it. And even if you can get things rolling a bit, is it realistic to believe Rutgers can ever be better than Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State?
Temple and Rutgers are an hour from each other. It's the exact same recruiting base. This article is worthless.

I would respectfully disagree about the recruiting bases for Temple and Rutgers. As an example, IMO we don't have the same recruiting BASE as O$U or UK and we are 2ish hours from both... we recruit the same AREA but our bases are very different. Put differently, UC and MU don't have the same recruiting BASE either. Area, maybe, base no way.
Whether we like it or not, the reality is most P5 marginal kids would rather go to a P5 school and possibly not play for 3+ years than come to a G5 school, even UC - especially in football where it takes so many more pieces to win or standout for a potential pro career. Just makes what CLF did last year that much more impressive
