Thanks for posting Dukester, I needed to cancel my subscription by the 27th (tomorrow) and if this thread didn't pop up reminding me I probably would have forgotten again. In principle, it's bad enough overpaying for this when I'm using it, but I'd be going for months paying without even using it. Owe you "A" beer!

He saved you at least a 12 pack. 04-cheers

So I'm watching JMU on flofootball, and then try to find the men's JMU basketball game after the JMU football game and it's not listed. I guess I need to log out of flowfootball and go somewhere else? You know what I did? I said screw it - why does it have to be 3 times as much, less options, and more complicated?

Why don't they make their network so simple an idiot like me can easily navigate?

Agreed. Not about the idiot part, just the frustration about price, options and functionality of flo.

This “flo” BS has got to go. It’s a failure on so many levels, but particularly about branding. Damn near every other mid-major conference is with ESPN+, but Noooooooooooooo, the CAA has to be special, hide it’s product, charge more and provide less usability and go with ”flo”

I tell you what, JMU needs to start throwing its weight around in this popsicle stand of a conference, and demand that the flo contract be kicked to the curb, and the CAA join ESPN+

Here’s my chant, Hey Ho, To Hell with Rowe, He's got to Go!!!

RE: CAA Streaming Deal with FloSports
Just curious, how has FloSports been handling the recent events with COVID? I was planning on subscribing this year but I am wondering how this will work with limited games. I'm assuming no form of reimbursement or refund?

Pretty sure they won't refund in most cases, you get whatever they have to offer that month. The subscription does cover their other sports beyond football, though they didn't have tons that appealed to me.

Could wait to sign up until the season starts though, and just cancel whenever the season ends or games stop happening ... I canceled after last season, might consider signing up this year again if interesting away games happen and are streamed.

I meant to bump this thread to remind folks that if they have a year to year subscription, do yourself a favor and go cancel it right now. You'll pay a full year for sports content you're very likely to not be getting.

FWIW, I killed mine back in April and they (Flo) were pretty cool about it. Didn't try to give me any lip about canceling (as they shouldn't).

Thanks for the reminder. Just beat my deadline on annual by 3 days. That would've been really beat since I personally don't think football is happening.

I did the full year last year and even with the CoVID cancellation of spring sports, it wasn't remotely worth it. I realize I barely watch non-football sports to justify the cost. I just don't have the time. Hell, in the football season, I go out of my way to make time for the games and that can even be challenging.

I'll be month to month Late August through end of November during football season moving forward. It'll save some money.

Same here. If football happens I'll pick it back up month to month as needed.

RE: CAA Streaming Deal with FloSports
Hopefully JMU will put as few games as possible on Flo and maybe they'll get put on local RSNs too.

However, Joey D said spring games will be on Flo Sports as part of our current 4 year deal.

Some "good"-ish news, it looks like Flo now just has a standard $12.50/month price, which is the same as the previous CAA special promo offer was. I remember that if you went to some links on the site, the monthly rate was $20 if you didn't go through the CAA specific link.

Still overpriced, but at least it's one standard price no matter what avenue you come down.

I have my espn+ for 4.99/mth that has far more, and better content.

Historically yes, but the pandemic has made it a little more slim pickins. ESPN+ is now $6/month by the way. Almost half the price of Flo haha.

Well it must of just changed if it's $6. My monthly charge to my cc was 4.99 on 10/5.

Not only do they offer boxing, ufc, espn/espn2/espn3, and major conference college athletics, etc, but have web content on all the major sports you do not get for free. There really is no comparison and it's less than half the price. I get flo in order to pay for JMU football games that I usually got for free in the past.

I am waiting to see who is covering WBB games if we cannot attend in person. I am hoping JMU swings a deal with Madizone.

CAA Streaming Deal with FloSports
Kevin Warner said that they’re actively working with MASN and NBC Sports Washington to try and broadcast all five home games on television.

He noted that MLB, NBA and NHL will be prioritized that time of year by those networks during certain time slots.

Madizone is JMU. The only thing preventing broadcast of games there is when FloSports has exclusive CAA media rights and decides to use them.

I'd love to see that, but we're gonna have a hard time arranging spots on MASN come late Feb, when spring training starts for the Orioles and Nats. But I guess it's a function of scheduling times when they're not on -- and remember than MASN has two channels.
