RE: FB 2019 predictions
Maybe UCLA gets us back. Maybe not.

As much as I hate it, we can't beat O$U and the refs up there. They'll just never let it happen. They'll just call a penalty on us where there was no flag thrown and we scored a TD on the play... AGAIN.

We'll probably drop one to Houston or Memphis.

I'm sorry, I don't think UCF is going to be the same team without Milton. We got 'em at home.

Yeah, probably 9-3. I'll take that.

RE: FB 2019 predictions
I'm really high on this team this year. I think they have the ability to go 13-0 and if they did with their schedule they would have to be in the CFP discussion. Wouldn't make it but it would be a strong resume. More realistically they go 10-2 with a great chance to win the AAC and a decent bowl game.

Unless we get a NY6 there are no decent bowls for us:

Jared Birmingham Bowl vs. SEC
– Bad Boy Mowers Gasparillia Bowl vs. Conference USA
– Hawaii Bowl vs. BYU or Mountain West
– Military Bowl presented by Northrup Grumman vs. ACC
– Cheribundi Tart Cherry Bowl vs. Conference USA
– AutoNation Cure Bowl vs. Sun Belt
– Frisco Bowl vs. At-Large

The closest thing to decent on this is Military and we have done that twice recently. Once decent weather but lousy game, last lousy weather but good game.

Next best is Birmingham with a P5 opponent in a should be condemned stadium.

Hawaii is just bad timing as it is too close to Christmas.

The others have little redeeming value.

RE: FB 2019 predictions
OSU is a real ? on this year's schedule. They're losing a hall of fame coach, a first round QB, and a few o-lineman. To back that up, their defense was hot garbage until they ran into Shea Patterson at the end of the year. We really don't know how good Ryan Day will be as a coach nor do we know how good Justin Fields is. We can probably assume both will be stars but we get them in their second game together and could make it a difficult transition.

If there were ever a time to score a big upset and put the College Football Playoff in contention, it starts in Week 2.

My thoughts exactly. Could they do it? Absolutely. Will they do it? I'm not sure. If they lose I hope they go down swinging and it's they got their best shot from OSU, not going out there looking completely outclassed and totally lost. Has a chance to put UC football firmly back on the map nationally.

Meh... if we win, it doesn't matter to OSU fans how close the game was. They will think their program has been decimated and Columbus police might seriously need to provide around the clock protection at the Day household. If we're going to win, I would rather absolutely destroy those SOBs 56 - 3.

I meant if UC loses than I hope it's not an embarrassment. If UC wins, I don't really care how it happens. Just win baby.

There are a couple other bowls like the Independence and Liberty Bowls that we have secondary tie-ins in the event another conference doesn't fill their bowl slots. Those bowls match up the AAC team against a P5. In the event we do not get the access bowl I see a strong possibility as one of those falling into our lap .

RE: FB 2019 predictions
I'll guess 9-3.

Could have just as easily been 8-4 last year had both SMU and Ohio U games gotten a different bounce (I still can't believe the Ohio U finish). If that were the case, I think folks would be picking 7 or 8 wins for 2019.

That said, we probably shouldn't have lost to Temple last year.

9-3 seems optimistically safe.

Also could have been 12-1 if a couple calls against temple aren't completely screwed up.

I agree that if there was ever a year to beat Ohio State it is now with the factors you mention above but also the talent level/team depth Cincinnati has. It isn't so much about Ohio State losing ground but how much we've gained on them to help close the talent/personnel gap. That said, we have two big factors that still make a win in Columbus not likely. First, even with no Urban at the helm, you're still talking largely about players he recruited and the same team system/infrastructure he used [not rebuilding from scratch] so I don't see a whole lot of drop-off in the transition. Second, history is not on our side. Ohio State has not lost to an in-state school since 1921 - Oberlin 7-6. Someone has to break that streak and it might as well be us...

We thought that last year. Did not happen then and unlikely 2019.

Why another sucky bowl. If Boston needs a bowl at least play in one of the FB Stadiums.

Not until 2020, but last I heard there were reports this bowl might not even happen. I don't think the ACC is too enthused about it.

The bowl tie-ins suck... if we are being honest think about it from the perspective of the P5 schools-- they look at a bowl game against the AAC the same way we look at bowls vs. a SBC/MAC/CUSA school.

If you look at the FB layout at Fenway for safety's sake they will need Notches!

13-1

What is a Cheribundi Tart anyway?

Is it like a 'sugar baby'?

Bearcats are ranked #12 as a 'sugar baby' college.

i'm not even sure I know what a 'sugar baby' is.
