BB Recruits
Why would excellent BB recruits come to UC to play for a coach that they don't know if he can win in the AAC? Big Gamble. How are we going to beat Houston, SMU, Memphis, UCF, USF, UConn, Temple, and Tulsa in BB? That puts us in 9th or 10th place yearly, with the hopes that something might change in the future Because we are going to play a different style of basketball. Good Luck with your hopes and dreams. Heck, you can forget about making the NCAA basketball tournament.

Relationship with coaching staff
Coach's experience
Playing style
Playing for a local school they watched on TV
National exposure of playing on TV
Facilities
Campus
AD commitment to athletics

Basically all the reasons someone would play for Luke Fickell (or anyone else for that matter). Even P5 schools who pulled coaches from non-P5 conferences have to deal with this reality, and those who chose the best coach for their system with the best plan to realize success find success.

Lay off the hooch.

Yea, that's what I have been thinking, but hey, sometimes it's fun to watch 9th and 10th place teams......not, get a life. Besides the derby is running today, shouldn't you be at the track by now. In 3,2,1 certain members will be in here defending this thread. 04-cheers

USF has potential to be pretty good next year. Haven't paid any attention to their transfers, but if no one transfers out they are returning virtually their entire team from last year.

I'd say UCF is the team along with Tulsa that doesn't belong on that list. UCF has massive player losses and has underperformed every year under Dawkins. Temple also arguably doesn't belong.

That's the problem with USF. We hear about their potential every year (in basketball and football) and they end up underwhelming.

I know it's slow over there on the X boards while you wait to see if your entire team is coming back or not, but you might want to review the past 6 seasons for your answer. You also might want to note Mr. Cincinnati that schools only get 13 scholly's so there's plenty of talent to go around.

Their Kenpom rankings in the last 4 years have been 238, 292, 279 and 99 (most recent). They are two years into a new coach and returning virtually the entire roster that finished 99 kenpom last year and won the CBI. Not sure where you were hearing about their potential previous years, as a sub-200 kenpom doesn't usually get talked up. But next year they have a shot at making the NCAA tournament (honestly, I'd put them above UC if Brooks and Cumberland both leave).

Your point isn't related to the initial post. Sure, they'll be pretty good next year, and that's great for the conference. The point that the OP was trolling to make was that USF and Tulsa - among others - will be stronger programs than UC for the foreseeable future. That ain't true.

MrCincy, what you've just wrote is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this site is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

UC has been pretty good at maintaining their BB program at a high level for a long time. I don’t expect them to be any different with the new coach.
