You mean, "The lovely Carol Merrill standing before Door #2." Unlike Richard Dawson who dished it out, poor Monty had to take a lot of old lady slobber on his cheek!
And to SuperflyB, yeah, Johnny and Ed were the pinnacle of the tonight show and nobody before (Parr) or since has touched them. It was can't miss TV for years and years.
funny how another midwestern feller caught the 'eye' of many...
the back and forth banter between JC and Ed was priceless.....
The whole entertainment industry needs to watch those old Tonight Shows with Johnny, Ed, and Doc. They were beloved because he made fun of everything and everybody, wasn't political because of it, and he could because he wasn't being assaulted and banned by the PC crowd. Humor is dead in America because the screamers and perpetually butt hurt crowd on the left has killed it. The only permissible humor is anti Right wing. And Race, Religion, Sex, Stupidity, and Politics (other than conservative) are off base now. And humor about the Right is contrived and lives off of the laugh track.
Johnny's guests talked about their own lives, not their own politics, and the critters from the San Diego Zoo were always a riot. The young comedians he had on usually had a fresh take and were worth the watch and the music was solid (Except for Tiny Tim and Miss Vicky).
We need to learn that a nation is most tolerant when it can laugh at anything, anyone, anytime, and enjoy it and get on with life.
If there is one thing I absolutely hate about the Left it is what they have done to destroy true tolerance and humor at the same time. They are a bunch of cold bloated Cod fish and the stench of them needs to be washed off of the Dock, Docket, and Ballot.
out of all the bs we spew on this board, that's my.....
I thought Trump dumped Marla for a younger model.

I'm a bit of a Jeopardy whiz and I've always selected the bottom questions first and bet as much as possible or feasible on the daily double. It's just been instinctual for me as I'm definitely no analytics or math whiz. Nice to see I wasn't wrong in this regard. Family has always told me that I needed to go audition but the opportunity has never come up.
How exactly have you done this without being on the show?
FWIW - A gal that sings in the local choir I'm in was a 2-day champion a few years back.
Wait..
RWT sings?
And very well.
Do you know the lyrics?
Will you translate the words for us CommieRed? Is it true that in one of the verses it said that they would help the Bite'em campaign? If my question offended you get mad at JD, he told me this.
A tad off point now, but I heard the other day that James, Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter will be on a network reboot of the GSN show The Chase. They'll be playing the part of The Beast, Mark Labbett, from the former GSN show.
Quote:After winning his 13th consecutive game on Friday, the graduate student from New Haven, Conn. earned himself a grand prize total of $430,200, making him the number five highest winning champion in regular play there has ever been. Amodio has been climbing his way up the top ten charts since he began his winning streak weeks ago, putting him in the conversation alongside acclaimed "Jeopardy!" champions like Ken Jennings and James Holzhauer.
In fact, his win on Friday earned him another spot in a top 5 record-holding category. With 13 consecutive wins under his belt, Amodio now holds the fifth-highest winning streak ever and shows no signs of stopping. However, he’s still got a long way to go if he’s planning to unseat current first-place winner Ken Jennings, whose winning streak of 74 games and $2,520,700 total winnings is still the massive score to beat.

A few days back he placed a huge bet on the final answer and got it wrong. Fortunately, for him the still won but by a smaller margin.
I get a kick out of the contestants and sometimes I wonder if they are questioned as to their political leanings because it seems like a whole bunch of them came out of the cast of The Big Bang Theory and a garden show...i.e. all Libturds. Nonetheless I still love the show and I like to try to answer their answers. Sometimes if the categories aren't about the arts I do pretty good. I could read a book and not know or care who wrote it but just the contents to me are important.

I can’t speak to Jeopardy, specifically. But I was given a glimpse into the inner-workings of some other TV game-shows and audience-participation shows during the 1990s. Believe me, the methods of getting the people they want up on the stage — and blocking out the people they don’t want — was a highly refined art. I suppose that could’ve changed in 25 years but I doubt it.
I also doubt that they screen people by saying “who did you vote for?”, etc. The process is much more subtle than that, but in the hands of experts, seemingly random/anodyne questions can produce very specific results.
Quote:Answer: The very briefly appointed host of Jeopardy!
Mike Richards will not become the new permanent host of the iconic daytime game show after all.
Producer Sony Pictures Television announced the embattled Richards — who is also the show’s executive producer — was stepping down from the role.
He made a post on a social media site which got him in hot water so the Levar Burton crowd could make a push for other reasons. Who knew that a guy reading game show questions from cue cards was socially and politically significant?
Egad! Levar Burton? He's one of the worst ones in my opinion. I would pick that young guy who was a winner too, I think his name was Buzz or something weird. He was very good. My least favorite ones are the ones that are on the news especially Cooper and the bugs bunny looking woman who smiles and looks like Mr. Ed from ABC News.

Wow.. if you're saying Robin Roberts (as that's who I think you're referring to) did bad, I'd definitely debate you on that Ollie. In fact, I had her beating out Levar, because Levar had the one bad start. which Robin overcame.
Robin IMO did fantastic during her stint. (Now Katie Couric and Cooper Anderson.. they blew it big time)
Again, Mayim did fantastic, as I did think Robin did. I think if Levar had the 2 weeks to work with, rather than being crammed into 1 week, he'd be right there in a fair discussion.

All 3 morning news hosts did well as that's their job, reading off a teleprompter. You also have experience with timing working with a co-host.
Quote:CULVER CITY, CA—It seemed like a big coup for the game show Jeopardy! as they got the President of the United States himself, Joe Biden, to host. But it ended up being a disaster, as every time a contestant answered in the form of a question, Biden would immediately turn and leave.
“What is the Roman Empire?” answered contestant Keith Black, a school teacher.
“I’m not taking questions at this time,” Biden said as he turned to leave the studio.
Producers then had to explain to him that in Jeopardy!, all answers are in the form of questions, but he’s not actually being questioned.
“Well, that’s just malarkey,” Biden reportedly said before going back in to host.
Still, his reflex about questions was too ingrained, as when a contest answered, “What is photosynthesis?” Biden again immediately left.
“Sorry,” he said while exiting the stage, “my staff says if I answer any questions, I don’t get ice cream.”
One of the producers then tried to fill in as host for the rest of the show, but someone in the audience soon found a bad tweet of his, and the guest host was shot on sight.
