Sanctions for what?
We've had several top 5,10,15 classes in the last 19 years. Under 3 different coaches.
We haven't been hit for recruiting violations at all. The only thing we got hit for was the still unproven Rose SAT stuff. University bent. Took the punishment and we've moved on even though he had been cleared two times by the NCAA clearing house.
Still not a single recruiting violation with all of those top classes.
Duke gets away with a ton.
Kansas is under fire.
UNC got away with academic fraud for decades, got caught and still didn't get anything for it.
Kentucky/Cal is definitely shady.
LSU got caught 100% nothing yet.
Arizona is the dirtiest of all of them, nothing yet.
People are extremely quick to label someone/program a cheater, except the actual people/programs cheating.
My point exactly. All these guys cheat and Memphis doesn’t?
Ok!
Anyways, nice recruiting class. Good luck.
Who knows what Cal, Pastner and Penny have done? I didn't say Duke was paying players just that they get away with a lot. Recently a former has been accused of rape while he was on campus nothing has happened. Is UNC's academic fraud the same as paying players? Is Cal being Shady the same as paying players? There is no proof.
Arizona/Miller were paying players out of pocket.
LSU was paying players. There is actual proof.
Kansas was discussing paying players. There was actual proof of them at least attempting it.
There are many forms of cheating that don't include paying players and at this point Memphis/Penny are guilty of none of them. There are many ways that the NCAA looks the other way and Memphis isn't the benefactor of that either. We got hit for Rose and there is still no actual proof of anything. They will do everything they can to hit a program like ours. If it's even a possibility we get hit. Period.
If Memphis hadn't landed Wiseman and Precious none of these Twitter warriors or ignorant fans would be saying anything. We'd have roughly the #15 or so class and it'd be a non factor.
Memphis lands Wiseman who happens to be the #1 recruit in the country who played for Penny and we bought him? Memphis lands Boogie after he decommits from Duke and we're dirty when we were essentially his #2 prior to his commitment in the first place? We land Precious who is Quinones' best friend and we paid for him? It has nothing to do with a staff of 2 former NBA players who were actually really good? Has nothing to do with having a coach that has been coaching at the college level for 20 years? Has nothing to do with having a former NBA coach of the year on staff?
Thanks for the backhand congrats on the class.
