Welp. Saw this one coming. So we have scholarships opening up. I’m guessing we’re going after some juco guys to fill the gap.

RE: Jiya Wright Transferring
So far we lose

Amir Brummet - backup WR
Fotis Kokosioulis - backup WR
Justin Hall - backup CB/S
Jordan Rowell - backup RB
Ryan Roberts - starting OL

only Roberts hurts...but he's leaving for a college experience

There will be more, but let’s be honest, none of these guys were going to start and whoever replaces their scholarship should be just as good if not better. No love lost when hearing about the transfers thus far

Most these guys are back-ups to the back-ups. And most were also decently rated recruits. So it’s easy to see why they’d think moving on is in their best interest.

Carey's QB recruiting was an absolute **** show lol.

His two best recruits his entire time here were Childers and Santa

He was trying really hard to find the next Jordan Lynch.

Roberts left before Hammock arrived, the others "discovered " a new path.

Time will tell, but Hammock may have done more in 60 days than Rod did in 6 years as far as QB recruitment.

While Carey did fail miserably at recruiting QB's, I feel like he was an Alec Ingold away from changing how he will be remembered.

The Alec Ingold decommit was an absolute crusher. That would have been interesting after seeing what he did at WI.

Don't forget Landon Root (missed his woobie in KS) and Mitch Kimble (wooed by Shafer at Cuse). QB's just didn't think Hot Rod was that hot.

I was enamored by Landon Root's speed...but that didn't work out

Anyway...I'm still waiting on Demetrius Jones and Seth Collins

To be fair, Childers was Freshman POY. Not sure he has developed a lot since then but he has shown flashes. We were used to Harnish, Lynch and Hare (when healthy). I agree, Carey never hit on that stud.

Santa was a solid recruit, they can't all be Billy Lowe.

Drew Hare wasn't bad...who knows what Maddie had he spent the year at QB, instead of late transitioning...and Childers was MAC freshman of the year...too bad he peaked at that

In all fairness he hasn’t even started his Junior year and I will say Childers got better last year, though not significantly. Harnish made a huge jump his junior year accelerated by a little competition from that other dude that started Iowa state. Now I wouldn’t expect that same type of jump but it could happen.

He did not have a Galloway to throw too either.

Hare was either a Doeren or Kill recruit.
