Think this trail leads back to Victory Parkway?
Interesting testimony in the Book Richardson trial regarding Sean Miller...

https://www.cincinnati.com/story/sports/...641381002/

Did Miller or Richardson engage in this behavior only after arriving in Tucson? Inquiring minds want to know.

Did Miller or Richardson pay some players while at Xavier? Of course they did.

Pearl-clutchers out there, be prepared to clutch your pearls... because the thing is, pretty much EVERY school who pulls in many top 100 recruits are offering them some sort of compensation. Top 25 players routinely get $25,000+, whereas players toward the bottom of the 50-100 range can often be swayed with a few grand. The FBI investigation hasn't slowed this down... it's still happening at virtually every high major program. The key is just to stay low and not go overboard, and you will be fine.

Mick routinely pulled out of recruiting battles because he refused to "play the game." While it's noble to follow all the rules like a boy scout, my opinion is that if you're the only one not cheating, then you are only cheating yourself...

I wonder if a driven, hard working, investigative local reporter from the Enquirer or one of the local news channels will try and do some digging to find out if Miller was paying players going all the way back to XU, or do even do something as simple as raising the question?

03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao I almost said that with a straight face.

I'm sure stuff was going on at XU, but unfortunately history has shown they will walk away unscathed in all of this.

As far as Tuba's comment about cheating, we live in a time where the risk of getting punished and the penalty is less than the reward for breaking the rules. It you were on the highway and everyone is going 85mph in a 65mph speed limit, you have very little risk of being pulled over by the police by going 75. In fact, going 75mph could actually cause difficulties on your commute as you deal with people whizzing by you.

A risk-benefit analysis is always called for in these situations.

Of course they were cheating. Do you really think they got to Arizona and all of a sudden thought why don't we start paying players? When teams start punching way above their weight I'm skeptical about how they do that and Xavier making deep runs in the A10 was a pretty good example. Of course I don't think this is worth the Enquirer investigating; they've been gone over a decade. Even if they were able to find anything after so many years have passed I just don't think it's at all relevant. I don't need proof when common sense tells you these cheaters didn't start cheating when they got to Tuscon.

Well good news is, UC doesn't have to worry about all this. No need to cheat when you are perpetually getting 2* projects. At least we can thank Micky for that one.
