What an amazingly epic episode. 10 out of 10. 3 episodes left and I don't see how they could ever top this.

GOT is the most epicly epic epic in the history of epicness.

It really is. That entire episode was amazing. I used to brag about being one of the few who had never watched GOT. And then I watched the first episode and was hooked.

Same here.

I almost had to quit watching it though during the 2nd and 3rd season. Not because it wasn't good but because of all the nudity and the horrible, horrible deaths of the more honorable characters in the show.

In the early years, if you were a "good guy" you were betrayed and gruesomely slaughtered in some terrible way. And that happened over and over again. Even children characters were not immune from the dark cruelty in some episodes.

It so had me hooked on the bigger story lines though that I couldn't walk away, and many terrible deeds got their just rewards the last 2 seasons.

If you aren't disturbed by some things like the red wedding and a few other deaths, then there is something missing inside you.
Wife and I tried it 1 episode. Couldnt get into it for that very reason

For what its worth, the nudity drops off as the series moves forward. It never disappears, but it does seem to be less of the focus. Frankly, I couldnt really figure out much of anything from the first episode. I had been told by several people that GOT was very good (this was around season 4)---So, I stuck with it. After 4 episodes I was hooked. Me and wife binge watched the first 4 season and finished not long before season 5 began. Its kinda funny---I went back later and re-watched the first episode this year and I was amazed at how it was an entirely different experience watching "episode #1" with complete understanding of who all the characters were.

Arya, as it turns out, has a killer bod. But that face... #butterface.

I think most of the "experts" you are encountering are readers of the book series first and show watchers second. You can just retain more when you read it.

I hate the nudity and sex were so prevalent early on in the series. It really did not enhance the story line and made it unwatchable for families with teens who otherwise would have loved the series.

- Survivors from the Battle of Winterfell: North, Wildlings, Vale Knights, Dothraki, Unsullied.

- Riverlands were the previously most damaged region (from War of the Five Kings) but if they can find Edmure Tully they might get him to rally the survivors. Unless there are only enough BoW survivors that Yara can transport them all by sea, then Dany's army has to march down the King's Road through the Riverlands.

- Outside of Casterly Rock getting sacked by the Unsullied, the Westerlands themselves have been relatively untouched. Can't say that for their menfolk, who are either dead or defending Cersei in King's Landing, but whatever is left there could be rallied for Dany/AeJon under the lawful Lord of the Westerlands and Warden of the West, Tyron.

- Cersei made the Tarleys lords of The Reach and Wardens of the South. With Randal and Dickon dead Sam's mom is probably running things as best she can. Not sure what forces The Reach still have at hand, but Dany could free Sam from his oath (No need for a Night's Watch....at least for now) and name him Lord of the Reach. His mom wouldn't object, and that would bring the Reach's reserves onto Dany/AeJon's side.

- Stormlands has basically had since the Battle of the Blackwater to recover, but a good part of their men died with Stannis in The North. What they have might come to Dany/AeJon's banner under Robert's only living son.

- Dorne is the real question mark. Who is even in charge down there? The Martells seemed to have been completely wiped out. Some third cousin twice removed? I think Dorne sits this one out and waits to see who to bend the knee to.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but White Harbor should still be able to provide men/resources to Dany and Jon.

White Harbor is the largest and wealthiest city in the North. Lord Manderly did not participate in the Battle of the Bastards, so they should still have a decent stock of men available for battle. Also, he built up one of the largest Navies in Westeros.

White Harbor is located quite a bit further south than Winterfell, so I doubt they would have had to retreat to Winterfell like the other vulnerable castles/settlements in the North did during the Night King's advance...

They haven't brought up White Harbor since Season 6 (?), so maybe they still have a role to play in the end game.

Presumably, Dany/AeJon landed at White Harbor on their way to Winterfell before the battle, with their Dothraki and Unsullied. Though I didn't see the Manderly Merman sigal during the BoW, I doubt Dany/AeJon told Lord Manderly "sit here and wait for us to get back". If he refused his liege lord and their Queen, he's going to have a bad day when they come back to head off to the South.
