Tampa Bay Lightning ???
04-jawdrop
Ties record for most wins in a season (#62, next best was #50). Is the sure bet favorite to win the Stanley Cup.
...Then gets swept in 1st round by the lowly Columbus Blue Jackets. Outscored 19-8 in a 4 game series. Un - Bee - lievable.

Just saw this at Sporting News: "The Tampa Bay Lightning are the first team in NHL history to win the Presidents’ Trophy and then be swept out of the first round." "Tampa Bay entered the playoffs as the heavy favorite to take home the Stanley Cup as it had one of the best regular seasons ever. But, it was shockingly overpowered by Columbus in one of the biggest upsets in NHL history." Sporting News reports that this "was the first postseason series victory for the Blue Jackets franchise." (team began play in 2000-01)

Ever seen a tweet like this from a pro team??

Followed up by:

That's why we follow sports: you never can be sure what will happen. How many really thought Tiger would win the Masters?
PS. Now "Tampa Bay Lightening" is trending worldwide on twitter.

128 points is the most in the NHL since ‘96. Imagine an NBA team putting up the league’s best record in 23 years and getting swept Round 1.

John Tortorella legit might be the funniest coach in sports. He needs to be on the national stage. His meltdowns are epic.

RE: Tampa Bay Lightening ???
oops... I got put in the penalty box. So is it a 2 minute minor? a 5 minute major? or a game misconduct?
I got carried away with what Columbus did. I would have bet my salary that Tampa Bay was going to win the cup (which is why I don't bet).

I just saw an article at USAToday where the author "dissects" this tweet like a break-up note. Funny.
https://ftw.usatoday.com/2019/04/tampa-b...k-up-tweet

Best line is at the end: Unfortunately, what the tweet doesn’t admit to is just how badly the Lightning messed up. There’s actually no accountability for their disastrous play, just a lot of emotional whitewashing.

USAToday also has:
6 reasons America needs to adopt the Blue Jackets as its Stanley Cup playoffs team
