Would have been nice to see what he could do on kickoffs at-least last season. Need more explosive players back there.

Too much competition at some positions seems to be forcing some people out, which I am okay with since they aren't happy with the direction Hammock is going in.

Lot of teammates wished him well, must have their respect. Wish him well, glad to see he had a good spring game, maybe some schools can see that at least.

Rowell would be the best power back on the roster today, if he was given any chance at all by the previous staff. Could still be if he stays. My opinion.

Who knows how good the kid can be, but I haven’t seen much from him to feel like this is a big loss. His career highlight so far is maybe 3 decent runs in the spring game vs second string defense.

Best of luck to Jordan. He was going to have a hard time getting on the field here. I think Erin Collins was a pretty clear signal in that regard.

Rowell would really excel in D3 where he could just outrun everyone like he did in high school.

Well, he probably got passed up by Rahveon Valentine. And will more than likely be passed up by Erin Collins, the transfer from NC State. His chances of playing were slim...

A lot of talent. Great size and speed.

But he dug himself a hole and found out how hard it is to get out once you do that. Sad. but, it's real life. He may do very well elsewhere.

Never really saw quick feet from him. He does have great straight line speed, but not quickness. At 6’1” I kinda get not having quickness, but he’s only 200lbs. So he’s not really a make you miss back, and at only 200lbs it’s hard to call him a power back. Doesn’t mean he can’t be good, just not sure how you use him.

He could have reinvented himself by playing defense....... Too bad. Maybe he should try FCS. NIU is really deep at this position.

Somewhat disappointing because the kid was an absolute beast in High School and a local kid, but I don't really blame him. He didn't get much of a chance and it's a crowded RB position, doubt he would see much time carrying the ball this year...

Best of luck, Jordan.

I’m sure he got a chance but running backs come a dime a dozen. Almost every program has solid running backs. You have to really stand out to get playing time.

I don't think this was because Rowell wasn't given a shot by the other staff. Even with the new staff he didn't appear to move the needle too much. It happens, hope he transfers to a place he can get playing time. Wonder if his girlfriend, who is a member of the golf team will transfer too. She has yet to play in a meet.

On another note another J.R. transferring, this one Jori Radtke VB player is transferring to Clemson. Second straight year with a VB starter transferring.

This one really sucks. They took her after her sister was mac poy. Not
really recruited highly. Take her in, train her, then she goes to Clemson.
I know athletes get the short end a lot, but not in this case. NIU got screwed.

This doesn’t hurt us or him to move on. Next man up! In high school your the big fish in a small pond. At the D1 level everyone was the big fish at their high school. Go find the pond where you can be the big fish again.

What year will he be? They play us in 2021 so if he’s got 3 years left we will see how he develops first hand.

That should be his senior year so it should definitely be interesting to see how he progresses
