Can’t blame him either better to jump than being pushed out and yes I think NIU and Monty will be better off moving in different directions. Hey

"Borovich has a reputation as a grinder and diligent worker on the recruiting trail." huh?

Standard garbage. Have you ever seen an article on a new college coach that says "has a reputation for taking it easy and balancing recruiting with other things..."? It's like everyone considers themselves an above average driver...every college coach is absolutely crazy about recruiting.

Smart of him to proactively get out of here. Looks like a good opportunity.

Yeah, very smart of him to proactively take a better job that pays more.

Anyone know who Borovich is credited with "finding?" ... German, McCarty, etc.? Usually, the press release pap will list some "stars" a coach is credited with bringing in.

On a related note Jim Molinari is headed to Oklahoma to assist Lon Kruger.

It's in that limbo of not formally announced but definitely real.

Otherwise it's super weird he's following a bunch of Northwestern accounts on Twitter all of the sudden

RE: Looks like Borovich leaving for Northwestern
Coach Montgomery's contract expires June 30, 2021 (if there are no more extensions we don't know about). Per Borovich departure, do you hire a replacement? Do you use the "savings" to absorb more of the budget cuts? And if there's some kind of buyout involved, how much and what used for (I don't know how this works with assts.)? Just some questions that occurred in passing.

My 2 cents?

You don’t spend a nickel to hire anyone outside to fill this spot. No one decent is going to have interest anyway. Bump up one of the other assistants and call it a day.

MM is for all practical purposes a “lame duck “ HC.

+1. Good points. Save whatever dough there is to save/get and move on. Support the team, hope something good is ahead.
