The personal touch of past administrations is indeed gone, and I have felt it as soon as STF and a new HAF staff came aboard. I won't get into it all, because I do have something positive to report.

I have been a big proponent of women's basketball for many years. The NIU women's BB program is simply outstanding with the way it treats its fans. I am a season ticketholder, and every year I also donate a few hundred dollars to the program. I cannot tell you how many e-mails and personal cards of thanks and appreciation I get from Coach Carlsen and the team. The other day, I got a card with a nice message personally written by one of the players. Not only did I feel touched by this gesture, but guess what? I will soon be donating more to women's BB. See how this works? Because the huge majority of donors do not donate to the women's BB program or even attend the games, they are unaware of how well this team treats its fans. Donors who do not donate to women's BB need to be treated with the same respect and shown this same appreciation. Maybe the women's BB program should provide a clinic for the Athletics office on how to treat its donors.

Is the STF regime worse than the Jiff regime in this respect?

It's not even close. Sean is to busy glad handing a few people, serving on diversity councils, and interviewing for bigger positions to be bothered.

No doubt, Frazier is the worst AD at NIU in a long long time

I don't understand the Frazier-bashing that goes on here.

Frazier has done quite a job with limited resources. People here have campaign tastes on a beer budget.

Frazier is not responsible for the decline in enrollment or the decline in attendance at sporting events in general. He's had to deal with the ESPN contract that moves our games to weekday nights for the revenue.

Our OOC schedule has been pretty good the last couple of years, and we've won or at least been competitive in some of the money games that we've had to play.

And don't forget getting Hammock as the head coach. This season will reveal his skills as a coach, but we already know that HAmmock has brought some energy and hope to the program, not to mention some recruiting coups.

My biggest critiques of Frazier are:

1) Treats fans like they are scum of the earth, elitist attitude
2) Ignores basketball (although you can say this about every AD after Groth)
3) Does not evaluate coaching positions
4) Has had his mind on the next job since the day he got here - I understand wanting to move up fast, but you have to at least accomplish something for the university that hires you

Deadline to order away game tickets is in 48 hours. In future years hopefully the website is up-do-date with that information.
https://niuhuskies.com/sports/2016/6/30/....aspx#Away

Is anyone else unable to log-in to the ticket site even with correct email/pw combo? Not receiving a password change email either, so effectively locked out of account.

Tickets will be old school including images from ISU Huskie games from the past. and some Hammock games. Maybe specific vs ISU. At least the ISU ticket. Spoke to photography last week who was doing image research. I don't even think they are designed yet.

RE: 2019 Football season tickets
Finally was able to get my season tickets ordered via phone. I was told that the fancy ticket layout is already at print so I'll get the generic tickets, which doesn't bother me. I tried to order an extra single-game ticket for ISU game but was told single-game ticket sales don't start until July 30.

I have the same issue, check my post at the end of the previous page. ended up ordering via phone, told then about the issue, but I know its not NIU's fault, but they should talk to TM and get this fixed.

Yeah using the myhuskies thing reminds me of starting up my 11 year old Hyundai and wondering if this will be the day it bites the dust. The myhuskies account is such a disaster. Great concept, but NIU just doesnt support it

We need to give Hammock at least three years to properly evaluate his skills as a head coach. It is tough to shine in your first year with a new system and a former coach's players. That said, I predict he will over perform and find early success.

There was a post on facebook from Ryan Ostry that Childers is outplaying all QBs including Bowers. He said that as a negative. We won't know till real games start. Maybe Childers will blossom under Hammock?

RE: 2019 Football season tickets
Once upon a time, a relative's junior team was holding offseason summer camp. A blogger wrote how one kid was much better than another kid and that the latter wouldn't make the team.

The "much better" kid didn't last 20 games and the "wouldn't make the team" kid is making millions playing major league.

Moral of the story: take any player evaluations from a writer/blogger/observer during offseason camp with a grain of salt. In fact, pay them no attention. It's meaningless.

RE: 2019 Football season tickets
Childers seems like a practice player. Always shows well during practice but doesn't translate that much to the actual game speed.
