OT - campus tour at Rice
So we did a campus tour of Rice today with my two high school students. I'm not saying they're applying to Rice but it's a possibility and I wanted to show them the campus a bit more.

It was impressive, and they especially enjoyed going into the tour guide's room at Sid Rich. I thought the most interesting sports-related moment was a slide they used in the initial presentation on varsity athletics at Rice. It showed the different sports that Rice competes in D1, and had a baseball player and a women's tennis player featured, and those two sports were in bold. And the admissions official giving the lecture said that those were the two most successful sports at Rice.

I guess that's true, although it's not super clear-cut on the women's side. In general though, they do feature athletics quite a bit in the tour, with several other athletes used for various slides.
