I'd put us 3rd on that list. UNCW has the 'close to home' edge, Hofstra has the better team. verbalcommits shows he had offers from 22 schools, too.

I really like how the new coach speaks and approaches things.

As far as I am concerned JMU has 5 scholarships for 2020. If you enter the transfer portal you are essentially gone and no way the coach should hold a scholarship for them in case they change their minds. The coach has to assume they are not coming back and must recruit accordingly.

Also given JMU's record over the last 3 years, I don't consider Wilson, Banks, Parker leaving a big deal at all. They were all experienced starters and all very inconsistent and their skills/talent did not translate to winning. It makes me think that the talent evaluation/recruiting was not where it should have been and player development was poor.

Turnover of this roster is of zero concern to me.

For those who won't read it, Coach B is looking at over 100 potential targets for his first recruiting class. He is also working on the schedule and said JMU is someone teams want to play because "maybe they anticipate us not being very good".

No word if his staff from Georgia Southern is coming, but they are available to hire now that his top assistant Wilson did not get the GA Southern job. He indicated he's heard from coaches all over the country, from high mid-majors to those with previous D1 HC experience.

Hope the turnaround happens fast. It would be really nice to beat one or two out of UVa, GMU, ODU at home next season. I would look at any of those as a "big" win given where things have been recently.

Elon looks to be tough next season, if it's played!

Based on the last few years......I would deem any DI win as 'big' right now.

Good to see that Byington is looking at over 100 players, as the number of offers out is pretty slim at this point.

And it seems, without knocking anyone, that Byington preferred to move on from Nwaba.

Jvonne Hadley the wing that JMU had offered committed to Northeastern. On some of these it appears the offers are coming late in the process due to the coaching transition and everything that is going on unless Coach B or a member of the staff has previously recruited the kid it’s up hill sledding to expect us to land these kids late - especially kids from out of area.

It does seem like Marquez and Holdens commitments may be connected. If Marquez commits I think it’s 50%+ that Holden commits as well.

Well, this is starting to get a little concerning,

I like the byington hire and feel he’ll do good, but this situation or something has severely impacted our ability to get some signings.

I have to think under normal circumstances, getting these kids in to see jmu and the new arena, we’d have won some of these recruiting battles.

As the numner of quality players dwindles, I’m thinking the best bet is just punt next year away and save the ships for when real recruiting can begin.

Was he a guy that Coach B had recruited while at Ga Southern?
