Which coach would have ensured Jarron would stay at UC? This was the likely outcome regardless.

Nick Van Pitino would have! We had him in the bag as our next coach, and let him go. The program is forever ruined.

I was surprised he waited this long to do it. This was going to happen if Mick had stayed or left. I'll be curious to see if he gets invited to the pre draft combine or not. I'm sure he'll likely go to Portsmouth, but that is typically a lot of guys who never get drafted.

Sadly, he's a symbol of how far this program has fallen. Conference realignment and lack of success the last few years has virtually eliminated all the ground that was gained over the last decade or so.

I was hoping for a good hire, someone that would signify this program hasn't peaked. Luke Fickell isn't that hire. Maybe he'll actually show up in a month, after O$U (you know, the school he actually cares about) is done with the playoffs. At least I will have most Saturdays free now, I guess.

It's been a fun ride boys, but.......

Thus started well before Mick left. Several handlers have been meeting with his family. Nothing to see here...yet.

This would have happened regardless, and isn't a guarantee that he's leaving... good lord. Brannen's been on the job for 5 days, and you're throwing in the towel. Ludicrous.

To look at the bright side, Logan Johnson, Samari Curtis, Mamadou Diarra, and other potential recruits may get a chance sooner than expected. I still expect Cumberland will return, but you never know what some of these agents/handlers end up promising kids.

Regardless of what happens this year, it will be an exciting year as we should see some new faces. Either filling spots from Transfers, Seniors, Cumberland potentially leaving, to players getting more opportunities under John Brannen.

No-brainer for Cumberland to go through the pre-draft process. It would be malpractice for a coach to not advise him to do so.

I believe Jarron will return for his Senior season and I don't blame him for testing the NBA waters. Hey, it could be a lot worse...Steve Alford has some work cut out for him. Look at all these dudes from Nevada listed for transfer...

JoJo Anderson PG JR 6-3 170 Immediately Eligible [2.7 Stars]

Jordan Brown PF FR 6-11 210 [4.7 Stars]

Lindsey Drew PG SR 6-4 180 Immediately Eligible [3 Stars]

Jalen Harris PG JR 6-4 190 Immediately Eligible [2.5 Stars]

Kwame 'K.J.' Hymes PF FR 6-10 200 [3.7 Stars]

Vince Lee PF FR 6-8 195 [2 Stars] Transferred to Cal State Fullerton

Shamiel Stevenson SF SO 6-6 230 [3 Stars]

Jalen Townsell SF FR 6-7 205 [2 Stars]

Nisre Zouzoua SG RS JR 6-2 190 Immediately Eligible [2 Stars]

Jarron is a phenomenal college player. I don’t know if he has the athleticism to garner a first round pick. If he is told he’s a 2nd round pick does he still leave? That’s the question.

I do not think often you know if you will be a second round pick. A lot of teams will take a reach with that second pick for obvious reasons. Unpredictable place to be in, and i think it's often a ride to the d (or i guess now) g train.

Yea, if he’s not a first RD Pick with a guaranteed contract it’s in his best interest to return. The development league will be there next year.

I think for him it’s finding one team willing to give him a shot on a two way deal. You only need one team.
