What this shows is there's no need to realign conferences. App has been able to schedule any G5 they've wanted to. ECU, Marshall, USM, ODU, UNCC, and we didn't have to screw around with the complexity and expense of conference realignment.

Regional realignment is as much about travel expenses as it is about matchups, and we all need to save more money.

Excellent. Is it 2 Boone 1 UNCC 1 BoA stadium? That makes the most sense. Hopefully they will continue to offer the birthday package.

Yeah, but by then UNCC's stadium will hold 50k, maybe 60k. I'm not so sure we want to play them in 10 years. Massive stadium, rapid fanbase, and easily one of the best programs in the ACC.

That would be behind schedule based upon the conversations by their fanbase in 2013.

This is a good time to remind the world that Southern Miss welched out on its game with Appalachian State in 2018.

I keep on wondering... Is this a good move for App?

I mean, I like in state series, A LOT. But App has positioned itself in a place where building the strongest OOC it can to not only get back to top 25, but to stay there.

It's not like a school like... us. Where any G5 is a "competitive" game for us and can't really hurt us, as we hurt ourselves more.

Or am i just overthinking it?

Over the last few years the dept has tried to limit the FCS games and would rather play two G5s if possible. Beating UNCC and ECU looks better than Elon and ECU on a path to the Top 25.

I think this is good news for App. They have an advantage vs most of the conference as its customary for P5 teams in North Carolina to schedule other teams in the state. True for UNC, NCState, Wake, Duke, ECU. Great schools with a willingness to play in state.

Out OOC strategy is to play in premier destinations (Penn State, Wisconsin, Texas A&M) and regional P5 and G5 games. We've done rather well with that.
