Lambert was a class act and I don't think you will find anyone that says otherwise. He had plenty of WTF in-game calls throughout the years but his ultimate nail in the coffin is when he opted for bringing in Kevin Olsen over Riley Ferguson. Riley's brother was on the team and wanted to be there. He went on to Memphis and threw for nearly 8K yards and 70 TDs in two seasons. You can read about Kevin Olsen in the paper for other reasons.

Lambert also had serious recruiting issues with the local high schools after Phil Ratliff's unfortunate passing. He was essentially blackballed from some programs the last couple years as coach. How coach for a startup managed to do this is beyond me.

Our ST play was also beyond atrocious for the first five years. It was definitely time for him to go but we can be grateful for him coming to start the program when there wasn't even a stadium.
