Charlotte/Carolina will be still announcing identity on 7/22.
Just sent out a tease with eliminations

RE: MLS announces plan to expand to 30
After Major League Soccer announced a delayed start date for its St. Louis expansion team due to the coronavirus pandemic, the MLS4TheLou ownership group offered disappointed fans a pick-me-up.
The long-awaited announcement of team name, colors and crest is finally coming. All three will be revealed in a virtual announcement set for Thursday, August 13.
The team is inviting fans to join the online experience by becoming one of the more than 700 who will be selected to virtually attend the announcement.

I'd go with Charlotte Crown, it seems to best represent the city. It feels like a traditional U.S. team name; I really hate the Euro-names.

You mean you don't think Real Inter Bayern Charlotte United is a catchy name?

I don't like care too much for the (City Name) with FC or SC before or after. Charlotte Crown would be fine. I don't mind the Euro-names and would STRONGLY prefer the traditional U.S. names but we've moved far away from that with only a few left in the league.

I'm kind of digging that Crown tagline.

The FC/SC actually doesn't bother me that much as long as they have a full traditional U.S. name like Charlotte Crown. LAFC, NYCFC, and the other five named in that pattern need a nickname. For KC, Miami, and Not Fake Salt Lake; if you have to explain the meaning of your name, you have probably already lost a potential fan. And, it is completely unacceptable for a PRO league to have multiple teams with the same nickname; this isn't a college or high school conference. Atlanta and Minnesota need to change.
I have been a Columbus Crew fan since the beginning of MLS.

I don't love the names, but building a good club is a lot more important. Atlanta has done such a good job that they can call themselves anything they want. Conversely, Miami has so many issues right now that the team name is the least of their worries.

Have you actually seen the names in other PRO Soccer leagues. In some leagues almost everybody is either red or blue.
MLS not doing too bad.

I have never watched any international soccer. It holds no interest for me since I know nothing about the teams.

The names are usually pedestrian in European leagues, e.g., Liverpool is just "Liverpool FC" and fans sometimes call them "Reds" because their home uniform is red, Chelsea is sometimes the "Blues", Borussia Dortmund is "the Black and Yellow". Some MLS teams are following this; LAFC is "the Black and Gold", Atlanta United is "the Five Stripes", etc.
